We treat marital love as if it is a feeling. When you vow to love someone until one of you dies that is unconditional love. Whether at a given moment you like that other person you vow to give them care, kindness, acceptance, and affection... unconditionally.
I love this song. Daytime Friends was the first Kenny Rogers album I bought back in 1977. There is another great track on the album to do with breaking up that is called Ghost Of Another Man. Maybe you could check that one out. Always love your reactions so thank you for this one.
I love this-and it's "my song" because I had a bad marriage and I made it last for 27 years. It was bad in many ways, even violence and my husband was a cheater. We divorced in 2017-but I'm ashamed to admit that his best friend who I had known for 25 years and I talked a lot over those years. At the end of my marriage (and his equally as long) we became daytime friends and nighttime lovers. Inn our case, we did confront our spouses and admit we had become involved. That was tough. Now at 56, and 62 for him we just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We dated 2 years after our divorces and then married so that is how we handled it. We are best friends still, and great lovers even as we approach retirement next year. Even our kids (5 grown from our first marriages-obviously none together) were all pretty mad but now have all made peace with it and see we are so happy-they are glad. So mine had a happy ending. So like you said, these are the songs people have lived. I'm glad for us it all worked out-but it was tricky at the start. I guess you never know?
Thanks Zach for this good request. This song was written by Ben Peters and released in '77. This also was Kenny's second solo number 1 hit. I think you missed it or I was zoned out when you mentioned it (which is quite possible) the spouses of the two cheating people, are also friends. Thanks for your reaction
I've always taken it as she suspects her husband is cheating, so she cheats with his friend out of spite and for the friendship that she doesn't get from her husband.

Thank you Zach for this super request. Hadn't heard this one in a long time, and it really still works today. Thanks for the terrific reaction Don!

What About Me? is a great live triangle song - sung by three people, including Kenny.
A painful love story Kenny sang was "Don't Fall In Love with a Dreamer."

Another cheating song that I love though I don't agtee with the action.
Thanks to Zach and Don.
