Great video & camera positioning on the horizontal stabilizer! Hope you also have the clip from your flight to Zurich. Keep them coming, great work!!

I have the clips from the flight to Zurich, yes. However, I'm not satisfied with the quality of the material to make a good video. Not sure yet, if it'll make it online.

Thank you for sharing this very interesting aspect of GA through such well made videos!
If you feel like it, you can cross the road for some soaring, it would be a pleasure to meet you.

    Hallo lieber Kollege,
    A. aus Berlin

When did you get the clearance?

    • @MikeVictorAviation

Just after start up. The audio quality of that part wasn't good due to some cracking noise on the recording. Therefore I skiped that in the video.

@@MikeVictorAviation Ah okay thank you! So you get the startup and IFR clearance separately at Zürich?

You get what you request! I first requested start up and then the IFR clearance. In a single piston with no ground power, your battery doesn’t last for ever. That’s why like to get the engine going first, before doing too much on the radios. And you have to keep in mind: when I request startup + IFR, and I only get startup with “stand by for clearance”, i cannot start the engine in the meantime, since I’d have to shut down the radios for that.

@@MikeVictorAviation Ah okay thanks! Makes sense of course :)
But in Germany I always thought that you get the clearance right with your startup request, and you only say "request startup" for both.
