I've seen the cardboard method recommended for Soldier Flies. I botched my one attempt so far at that, but I will try this with Zophobus morio. Glad to see this vid.
They estimate that it's roughly 500 egg per female beetle. I personally think it's less, but every source I've found on the question for several years now, is 500.
Hey KC been following you longtime, my question today is, in your knowledge, do superworms eat the eggs laid by beetles, i had to go on holiday so i put all the critters in one large container so the person looking after them has an easier time feeding and less demand on their space. Now that i'm back, wondering this question. Cheerios KC.
They can. It's best to change the substrate once every 1-1.5 weeks, so 7-10 days. Small larva may eat some of the eggs, but larger ones will wipe out your production all together. It's beat to always change out all of the substrate. Hope this helps my friend!
@@KCExotics it does help tremendously, will take ur tips on board. It gives me confidence that keeping the life phases separate is ultimately the way to go.
That’s so cool! 😮

Do you sell beetles? I have the worst luck getting my larvae to pupate, so I can get more going.
My whole stock got infected with a deadly virus and has basically been wiped out. So unfortunately I do not.
