That dog did not want to get up and take the sock but I bet he said to him self "if I take it I'll probably get a treat"
I got the impression (as I'm pretty sure most did) that the dog was trained to do this. But, he looked so tired, was so comfy on that pillow. However, due to extreme training (haha) and extreme love for his human, he got off the couch *sigh* and brought the sock upstairs! And again, those are just my impressions.

Ok that bobcat was insane. It didn’t even get a run up, it just twitched its legs and hopped 20 feet
That was about 5.5 bobcat body lengths. So it was only about 9-10 feet at most. It just looks longer from the bobcat's perspective.
For me the thing that was most impressive was the accuracy of the jump. It first accurately judged it could make the jump and then used precisely the right amount of force to land squarely on the log. It was so accurate that it was able to immediately jump again without any adjustment.

0:36 I was doing laundry once and dropped a sock, and my service-dog-in-training was following me around at the time, so I pointed to the sock and told him to pick it up. Coincidentally, the main object we used to train him to pick stuff up with was socks, so I knew he would have no trouble knowing what to do, the tricky part was getting him to put the sock in the laundry basket (I just up and picked up all the clothes in my arms and brought them to the laundry basket instead of bringing the laundry basket over.). I didn't really expect him to do it when I pointed to the laundry basket and told him to put it in the laundry basket, but I figured it was worth a shot. To my surprise, he actually dropped the sock in the laundry basket! I had never trained him to drop items in certain places or the laundry basket, so I have no idea how he knew what I was asking. I rewarded him handsomely and began to train him to put clothes in the laundry basket. I knew I had made a mistake when the next day I watched him take a sock out of the laundry basket, walk around for a few seconds, put the sock back in the laundry basket, and then look up at me for a treat. Dogs are definitely very smart.

How that bobcat immediately calculated the second and third jumps distance without stopping is even more impressive.
When you think about it, we do the same thing but not with that long of a distance. Like hopscotch or steppingstones. We can easily and without even thinking just jump onto the next place.
Yeah it just carried momentum the same way we have to take a few steps to slow down from a sprint.
Considering a traceur can do that kind of jump pretty easily after a small amount of training, it would be absolutely trivial to a bobcat.

But when it comes to even bigger cats' agility i think it's a competition between snow leopards, panthers and jaguars due to the balance from their tails.

I really appreciate that this channel immediately shows me the video that was advertised, first thing.
If anyone wants to know what that photographer did, it’s called the tilt shift effect. You don’t have to actually do the physical effect by using a tilt lens you can just use something like photo shop.
What it does is it blurs the two parallel sides of the image or video, and if your camera is at the right angle to what it’s like when you’re picturing something small normally, as well as the right height, you can finally achieve the effect.

My favorite part about those blue butterflies is if you crushed their wings to dust, that dust wouldn't be blue anymore. There's no blue pigment involved. The wing is covered with tiny pits shaped to resonate with and reflect blue light, and absorb everything else.

@@AlphaChinoz technically, it's lay. There are two verbs. Lie and lay. If you're doing it to something, it's the second one, "Every afternoon, I lay the baby down in the crib." If you're just doing it yourself, or whatever the subject of the sentence is is doing it without an object, you use the first, "I lie down in bed" and "the leaves lie on the ground." Then there are the conjugations for the present, past, and past perfect tenses: lie, lay, have lain for the first one and lay, laid, have laid for the second one. You'll notice the past tense of lie is the same as the present/infinitive of lay. So it's definitely confusing.
Anyway, this is not really important, I just brought it up since you corrected the OP, but you weren't actually right.
