  • This is by far the simplest and most used exercises in my toolbox, and it is directly responsible for helping people focus and refocus. I show my best drill for training real consistency. HAVE FUN😁

    Really nice suggestion. The 3 outcome levels is, once again, a super smart way to go about this. My vote for "smartest Tennis channel on YT (in English at least)"!!

    Hey Will -I love your definition of consistency. One question, what's the approximate size of the target box. Thanks.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can vary it by level but for most I do a 3x3

    Could you please make a quick video on how to train your serving arm (I'm right-handed) to finish the swing to the left of your body after contact? I have a decent serve, but my arm never swings to the left after contact. And if I try, I end up always missing the serve because I am thinking too much about the swing. Thank you in advance!

    Focussing on the targets consistently and getting to 80 percent or 30 in a row, for example will start to refine technique, no doubt, this is a good approach.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also allows you to make micro adjustable and check results quickly 😁 hope it helps 👍

    Thanks for a good video. The aim of this drill is to make small adjustments, so I think it’s better to get a ball-machine instead of a hitting partner.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว

      All depends on the outcome you're looking for and the level😁 that why i love how open ended this exercise is. For example your goal might be to stay accurate with a changing rally or while being moved around. But for micro adjustments a ball machine or feeding is perfect. No wrong answer 😁

    Iron Will, love your videos, seems like your videos resolution is not 1440 HD as noted, they seem almost like 720pm or even lower quality. Just letting you know what I see. I selected 1440 but they still look like out of focus. Especially at the 2:46 minute the video is really blurry.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, i hope the videos are helpful. Camera upgrades are in the near future👍 But that blurry part is just an auto focus issue

    Will, I think most people will have problem counting 3 items at a time (like me). Can we use two only, like Success and Precision?

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's easy once you try it if you focus on counting success, the rest take care of themselves. But sure adjust it for your needs, of course

    Will, I feel like I am losing the control of my forehand when I focus on my legs and hip drive. On the other hand, I am not using the body enough when I focus on my swing only. Should I keep practicing with focus on my legs and hip during rally or something else I am missing ?
    Thanks

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely work from the ground up. Your hands are the last peice in the chain, so anything you change in the beginning will affect the ending. For example, if you get your stroke perfect the you start moving differently, and then you'll change the stroke anyway

    • @phillai9930
      @phillai9930 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again. I am kind of losing confidence here and there as my forehand goes wild when I focus on my leg drive suggested by your previous clip. I believe the day will come if I keep concentrating on the ground force, letting my arm swing freely, am I right?

    are you shooting with a dslr? I feel like if so you might want to close down your aperture so that you have less depth of field. It looks like you're shooting wide open hence the bokeh in the background and general lack of focus unless you're close to camera. Sorry, unsolicited advice haha.

    • @ironwilltennis
      @ironwilltennis  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will look more closely at the settings. That was a result of changing it off of auto focus. Now I gotta dial in the settings
