0:55 - The Japanese had six fleet aircraft carriers with about 350 planes for the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Because of dumb luck none of the American carriers were at Pearl Harbor. They were delivering planes to Wake Island at the time of the attack. Probably why the Japanese did not strike again. They thought the carriers would be there. And since they did not know for sure where they were, plus being at the end of the logistical supply lines being so far out to sea. They had to withdraw. Not getting the American carriers was not great for them and the biggest part of their blunder.
I'm actually super stoked they remembered the Churchill quote about America grinding down Japan into a fine powder. That was the bar of the whole supernova podcast
Fun fact. There was a guy who was on a work trip to Hiroshima and was there when the nuke went off, suffering only minor injuries he returned back to his town of Nagasaki where the second bomb blew up. He still survived.
