I agree. The 'old guard' of Rapinoe, Morgan, Lloyd, Heath, Press, Ertz was a dynasty that lasted way too long. These fresh young faces have fresh young spirits, and lots of talent. The only thing I'm concerned about is that the team is becoming too small (in height). Against teams like Norway and Sweeden, that puts the US at a significant disadvantage.
Good for the Uzbeks scoring a goal against the top ranked team. They get international experience, a confidence boost scoring a goal and they get a few weeks paid and stay at some nice hotels in the US. That has to be great for the team and staff.

Must be so very frustrating for the Uzbeki keeper. The keeper looked pretty good except for failing to get to the ball when she came out of goal. Not much you can do if your teammates forget to play defense. She clearly had to commit very early because she didn't trust her defense against the USWNT offensive onslaught. The story is going to be about giving up 9 goals; but that keeper put in a real good effort.
I cannot remember the name of the younger goalie we've been trying lately, but we need to get her more playing time. Naehr is simply not anywhere near the best keeper the US has available.

Pugh is the best player on the team ...and is crazy fit ...she runs all game n looks like she`s not even winded ... She`s the best player in the NWSL also..IMO ...Her and Sophia Smith gonna b a force to be reckoned with ...So disappointed Lynn Williams got Hurt .. Lately, this US team has been playing a whole bunch of amateur teams to make them look good. Ussoccer is trying to brainwash all those young, innocent girls with the narrative that USWNT is still a dominant force in world soccer, and by playing against these amateurs so they would be able to put up the scoreline of something like 9-0 or 10-0 to prove that. That is just one of their gimmicks to sell tickets. The era of US dominance is over as the world is catching on and women players are professionalized worldwide. Teams like Spain, England, Sweden, and even France now in my opinion are on par or even surpass the US.
I completely agree as a child who plays on one of the best u13 in the country I know some teams that are u16 u17 that would crush them. Not to mention the u15 teams in spain and france.

Tradition of being the best team in the world attracts young girls to play the sport. Girls don't have football (the American kind). It is more popular (along with some other sports) among boys and gets the best athletes. If soccer was the number one sport in the US like it is in numerous other countries the men's team would be much better. Less competition for the women and women's soccer in other countries gets significantly less funding.

Tradition of being the best team in the world attracts young girls to play the sport. Girls don't have football (the American kind). It is more popular (along with some other sports) among boys and gets the best athletes. If soccer was the number one sport in the US like it is in numerous other countries the men's team would be much better. Less competition for the women and women's soccer in other countries gets significantly less funding.
