depends on the weight of the dog and if it's dark vs milk chocolate, so long as you don't give too much your dog will sleep it off(an easy way to get a hyperactive dog to kalm down while guests are around).

The giraffe was only buffing the swan once per turn, vs. the dragon buffing everyone every sale. Oh well, you still won. Yay Paddy! :D
I'm so very confused. Why did you keep giraffe over penguin (+1/+1 to swan vs +1/+1 to swan&badger)? And why did you later keep giraffe over monkey (+1/+1 to swan vs +2/+2 to swan)? And got a tad annoyed each time you spend 2 gold to boost dog +1/+1, but then opted to not use a pill on summoning animals to get another +1/+1 for 1 gold (which is then refunded by selling the new critter). And at some moments you could get that twiceover (sheep/chicken) when you were going to change the giraffe to a monkey anyway (which you didn't either, like said above), by selling giraffe before using the pill (costing you -1 gold when you sell both new critters).
Giraffe has a lot more health and hit points than a fresh penguin... You don't just want to focus on buffs, but also stats of those pets too if you want to do well!
Dragon dog would have been far better than giraffe. Everyone gets a buff every time you buy a pet instead of a single 1/1 at the end of the round. Also level 1 dog buy sell us worth half an apple. You only get 1 or 1. Very low value until you level up. Then its still not that good, but you could possibly have saved perfect run.

He had 5 coins so he could have bought the crocodile and then rolled twice for potentially something to freeze but maybe there’s a thought process that I’m missing, I’m not entirely great at this game so I don’t know how it works all that well

I have 150 games and only 2 wins....I honestly don't know where the "strategy" is, it's just so fucking random and I'm always picking wrong. I hate this game so much, but if they bring in a few of my suggestions (bench seat and/or change shop dynamics), then maybe I'll play again, but for now, fuck it.
Th dragon would have been good since the giraffe only give 1/1 to one friend while the dragon gives 1/1 to all friends but still you won, it doesn't matter.

The stats only count from when the update with stats was released (I played A LOT before that update)

For the future, remeber to use the pill for the animals that can spawn another animal, is a good tactics for the dog.
if you want to get paddy really buff, try synergising him with a summoning team as each summon give him stats during that battle.
Unfortunately summon builds are countered by a lot of common animals. Anything with a snipe, ko, or hurt effect hard counters a summoning build.
