    This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries batery.repair and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!

    Upgraded from an older 18v kit. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

    Great job! This old drill is about as compact as anything produced today, sleeker looking without all of the over-molding nonsense, and will last longer since it doesn’t have all of the modern electronics inside.

    • @weeardguy
      @weeardguy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You forget about the fact that there are hardly 7,2 Volt (and slightly above) battery drills produced today. Almost everything is 12 Volt (if you still want to go down the NickelMetal-hydride way. which I would not recommend), 14,4, 18 and 24 Volt.
      And there is a thing for weight-distribution as well. I don't like to work with these kind of drill as the weight-distribution just sucks. the battery-conversion makes things even worse in this case.

    bit of help for soldering: instead of putting solder on the iron and then transferring it to the solder pad, put the iron on the pad first and then add solder. It'll help the solder flow better, and may even let you not have to add flux to the pad before soldering.

      Did you use a 9.6 volt battery common for RC cars? I'm curious as to if the drill circuitry can handle the voltage increase and how well and long it performs. I have both a 1985 Makita 7.2 volt drill and a black and decker one with the rechargeable batteries that's built in pretty weak.

    Great video! People need to know more about safety electronic circuits for batteries, and have some basic soldering skills as well... I see a ton of "restoration/repair" videos, cold joints and destroyed pcbs everywhere...
    If i may suggest something, when using the desoldering pump, add some fresh solder to the joint you want to remove, it will make it a lot easier.

    You put the BMS on the Batteries without any extra insulation. There is only Batteries shrink plastic cover between batteries and The BMS. It's possible to short out and causes fire when batteries get hot and the batteries plastic cover got melt. It can be very dangerous you are Pro and exactly know what I'm talking about.

    Muy buena conversión compi. Lo único vigila que las celdas sea las adecuadas, ya que tienen que soportar un pico de amperaje de entrega de energia y no cualquier 18650 sirve. Por lo demás, un 10!!

    I have redone this drill with liIon but the BMS only can be used for recharging not for power because the drill is only 2 speeds .......not varyable speed ..... the firs speed uses only one batt 4.2 volts and the second 8.4 volts so ..........

    The diode cannot cause an increase in the voltage of the Li-ion charger. The diode there served just to protect the cables from burning when the charging connector or charger was shorted.
