I live next to the lock entrance of the Manchester ship canal on the river mersey , i get to see the big oil tankers go past my house every day using the lock to go inland to Manchester and on a calm day the narrow boats leaving the ellesmere port canal heading across the river for the Liverpool canal connection. We've got thousands of locks in England because all our major towns and city's are connected by canals , its great being able to tour the country by boat 😃👍
I enjoyed the video very much and spotted the shout out, much appreciated. I haven't ridden that trail yet, and now have it on my to-do list. I think first though, I will ride the trail that you and your wife road from the Highway 98/19 bridge out to the west to the Gulf a number of videos ago. That whole area has interesting engineering. Below the Lake Rousseau Dam, the Withlacoochee River continues west, but flows into the Barge Canal, and then it's water flows to the Gulf within the cut made by the Barge Canal. If you take a motorcycle or your car on the road from Dunnellon to Inglis, you pass two entrances on your left as you get near Inglis. The first leads to the lock that you visited, and there is a R/C model airplane field near the lock. If instead, you go a mile or two further toward Inglis, you come to another entrance to a State Park area called the Inglis Bypass Recreation Area. If you go in there, you first pass some ball fields, and if you ride past them, you continue on a paved road that runs along the canal bypass. There is a dam there, similar in size to the Lake Rousseau Dam, and then the road goes downhill to parallel the canal bypass below that dam. There is a nice picnic area at the end of the road that is actually on the lower part of the Withlacoochee River. The river flows from there to the Gulf in it's original path. At certain times of the year, snook fishing is very good below that dam. If you look at a satellite view you see that the Withlacoochee actually crosses the Barge Canal with some pretty creative engineering. Also, in this video, you point out the Highway 19 barge canal overpass in the distance in one scene. Ten years ago, Highway 19 was four lanes through Crystal River north to the barge canal and four lanes from barge canal all the way north, well past Cedar Key. However, the bridge over the barge canal was two lanes, and was very high, so that barges with tall cargo could pass under the bridge. A few years later, the bridge was made four lanes, and lowered to it's current height at the same time, putting an exclamation point on the death notice of the barge canal.
Nice trip around the lock Moto... that copperhead didn't look like he was very happy, I don't think you got his good side in camera😊... I tell ya moto, you guys faired very well compared to the Carolinas as far as Helene damage...
I see people with cats riding on their motorcycle with little helmets, I guess he could be trained. He kind of liked it when I care I'm at one arm when he runs away and I did put him in a basket once and held them and he wasn't crazy but I think he'd probably get used to it
They are low, it does after a while. I like the lower seat height for better stability when throttling in sketchy areas. Wife needs to be low, she's unstable still being new
Great video as always. Dude you have a downright wicked hurricane headed your way. Its currently cat5 status; (( NOT GOOD)). 73 GOD BLESS EARNEST K5EWM

As ready as we gonna be! Tracking it and might bail last minute
I think a small dog would sit in the basket, but I think Gizmo would freak.

Hey it doesn't bother your knees not getting a full leg extension when you peddle? Looks like everyone in your group seats are too low.
