Another part of candle making I love is the process. I like getting super, duper organized before I get going. That way everything flows so nicely during assembly.
Ig : maude.landry My favorite thing about candle making is building confidence in myself for every decisions that I need to make on my own. Finding the audacity to believe in my dream of becoming a candle maker has been incredible so far on a personal level and I didn’t expect that!
I really enjoy knowing that someone else is going to enjoy the fragments as much as I enjoy smelling the scent, when I am making the candle. Hoping it puts a smile on Their face.
My favorite thing about starting my Kirkvale Candle business would be the research of different things from jars and stickers to fragrance oils and packaging!
My favorite part is timelapsing my candles while they’re curing!!! So satisfying 😍 @mellonyduarte well deserved for all your subscribers, proud of you!!
What’s not to love about candle making? From researching all.the.things to selecting and blending fragrances, and from pouring on to my jar to packaging them to my customers. I find it all so therapeutic. It’s helped me through so many difficult days, especially after the loss of my son. I am so thankful I know how to make candles also because I can give back to the baby loss community with every purchase made at my shop, and bring a little light to families who have also lost a child. P.S. This is a great, great video!!!
Hi Erica! Congrats on 20k, super excited about this giveaway. My favorite part of candle making is turning on some nice slow jams and jumping right in. Making candles brings such a sense of calmness to my hectic life (demanding job and 2 little ones). Making candles is my “self care” time.
Oh, my favorite part...lol Most people would say this is not their favorite part but I actually love creating my labels and dust covers. I find I can be super creative and put it on something I love.
I am very interested in starting a candle business. I love candles. And your first tip - Research - your videos with the vast knowledge and information provide almost 60% to 70% of it. Pls keep them coming...👍🙂
Oh yeah, 5th favorite part is when my fiancé has this facial reaction like he’s so proud of me knowing the house smells amazing! Even my 2 yr old has the cutest face when he smells my candles 🥺♥️
I love watching ur videos. You have an upbeat personality on ur videos that doesn’t bored me while watching. Most of the times on you tube I never finish watching a video but urs are short but to the point. Thank u. I have learned so much from u
I haven't started the business and I am thinking of candle business. I'm just doing my research work. And I'm so happy to have you. Like your videos are really useful. Thank you sooooo much for being here. Love and keep growing. ♥️🌼♥️🌼
My boyfriend has been wanting to start a candle business for about a year but I haven't been fully on board until finding your TH-cam channel. Thank you so much for all of you help, advice, do and don'ts, literally everything I could possibly need to know about starting a candle business.

I just trimmed up some wicks for my small hurricane jars. Dammit, I can see why buying pre-tabbed is the only way to go...lol Cheers !! Yay Canada
3rd thing congratulations 🎉 on 20k love candle science. Plus I when I finally do start I really can’t wait to know the fact that my candles & bath & body products will be in peoples homes. I’m so so excited to start my journey 😆
I haven’t started yet my shipment is supposed to come today🤞🏼so that I can get started making candles. I’m so glad I came across your channel and I’m watching every single one of your videos and they’re so informative. I’ve learned so much for you. Thank you for what you do and I’m definitely gonna keep watching!
Oh my gosh! Your username caught my eye from my vid so I had to check you out! This is amazing!! My mom and I actually used to make candles YEARS ago! I'm subscribed and so ready to check more of your vids out. Congrats on 20+k! ❤️
Ahhh girl!! Thank you so much for checking out my channel! I’ve been watching yours for the past couple of months! That’s so cool that you and your mom used to make candles! ☺️💜
Thank you so much for all your videos. They have helped me so so much. I started making candles two weeks ago and my favorite thing has been experimenting with different scents. Thank you again 🙏🏼.
Because of you and your confidence I am starting my candle and others shop lol thank you for all your advice. I have been looking and going to my local supply checking out candle science and flaming candle love ya
(I started about 2 months ago and told myself I was going to love 464 and buy a 45lb case of it... well testing taught me to start small and work my way up! Have not found love yet with 464 so I am now testing 6006 and waiting to get in cocosoy and coco apricot creme. ) I love that this is a unique journey. Every person I have spoken to on the DIY group or just from reading through the posts on the group, they all have their own success stories and wax preferences on what works for them. “You won’t know till ya try”,learning that the expensive way 😂 but it’s been a fun journey so far! I can’t wait to find my perfect wax to start really kicking things into high gear - hopefully in time for a late fall, Holiday season launch! Best of luck to everyone! And thank you Erica for these videos, it’s what inspired me to stop saying I can’t do this, and actually make a step forward into making a dream into a reality. You should be so proud of all your accomplishments and how much you have positively impacted this community!! @mandaapandaa29
Well if you would ask me, my favourite process of making candles are testing out scents and figuring out which goes well together (even though it takes time, math and hours of research) and my second favourite would be packaging..packaging is everything to me!. I like to packed it like i’m giving a birthday present to my customer. Anyway thank you for all the videos you have posted, it has help me to be confident in myself and I can’t wait to to start my own homemade candle business.
@lotusandclove i love the creative side of it. creating different scents and combining them to make one special to you. creating the lables, designing them how you want, personalise them! love it
My favorite part of candle making is the whole process of melting the wax and combining fragrance oils. I'm still in the testing phase so trying different wicks can be frustrating for me lol. I love making candles though. I deal with anxiety and that's part of the reason why I got into this. For me it's therapeutic. It really does help calm my mind.
I love your videos. You are an excellent teacher and I am happy for your success. You deserve the best. Your are so kind and humble. Thank you for everything.
@amberandwoodco #1: I personally struggle with anxiety and depression and candlemaking is an total escape for me! It’s the way I unwind and clear my head and relax. The fact that I have to stay focused while making candles really quiets my mind and helps my anxiety
Second thing I loved about selling was I helped my cousins babies diaper rash that would not go away with anything from a store. That feeling was wonderful 🥰🥰🥰
@MaeLeeCandleCompany My favorite part is the learning and testing. Seeing what works, what doesn’t, how to change it to work and to make it better. It’s all a process to get to a great product.
@cedarandhowl I love your channel! I love that I binge watch candle making now lol My favorite part of candle making is mostly the scent selection. I like picking scents, that when I smell them, take me back to a specific memory or just to a new place. I have so many memories at coffee shops so I was instantly transported when I smelled the coffee scent from candle science but when I smell the fresh rain scent I picture myself in a forest right after it’s rained and it’s super relaxing. The best part of making candles is getting the freedom to work from home but feel like I can be transported back in time. I absolutely love it. And candle science by far is the best supplier I’ve found!
@mdebytay My 3rd favorite part about candle making is how much you can make it your own. There may be a lot of people starting their own candle business but every one of them is unique. It’s nice to be able to express yourself through something you enjoy doing.
My second favorite (close runner up) is putting my branding together. I’ve done everything by myself & it has been soooo fun. I shocked myself with how well I’ve done. I will be launching Sep 18th 😅
Few questions. I've watched alot of your videos and they're awesome! I know there is lots pf ways of how you pay yourself, but how do you pay yourself? Do you calculate how much the business needs per month then you take the rest? Do you take a percentage or a salary? Does it matter if you put your labels on your jar before or after you put the wax in? How long does unused wax last, like how long can you store it? How long does your finished candles last between orders, before loosing their scent? With your one shipping video, you mention a million ways to do shipping but how do you calculate the price for shipping for the customer to pay? I've watch you and black tie barn and I'm still confused on it. How long does unused fragrance oil last?
@cosmichoneycreations . One of my favorite things about making candles is making a perfect blend of scents! I love using using natural scents like lavender and sage!
I came across your videos on TH-cam. And it inspired me to start my business. I am from Canada so I had to watch videos on videos and do research upon research for fragrances and everything else that ship to Canada
