all these people are writing that the pvp is bad. Im pvping for a week now and its really fun. Just run away with your back facing them and expext their backstabs and you can punish them. Surr sometimes there are guys who just can always land the bs but these are people who did play this game for a way longer time. The classic backstab fishing player is not a problem when you play it smart. Furthermore i only did get bs one time from the front :D maybe im just lucky
Herecomes theWolf that’s exactly the problem and why I don’t play dark souls re pvp anymore; the backstabs. It’s an easy low risk for high reward and even though you can anticipate it, lag just makes it that much easier to get. I remember this one TH-cam basically saying that higher latency made the pvp better because of this, which I can’t wrap my head around. There was never a time in dark souls 2 or 3 where I thought that I hope the other guy doesn’t fish backstab me, because fighting those players isn’t boring, or a build that 3 to 4 shots me; wotg, dark bead, Brandon builds am I right? Dark souls 2 pvp had lots of variety in terms of weapons, spells, and overall game mechanics. If I wanted to dual wield weapons, I could because I can run attack, light, and heavy attack with my offhand weapon; something you can’t do in dark souls 1 or 3 for some reason. Dark souls 3 was fun because the fights were always about out spacing, stamina management, anticipating your opponent; backstabs were just that added bonus where if you got it then you most likely earned it because your opponent left themselves wide open. Countering backstabs is all I ever hear about in this game and I think that’s ridiculous.
PvP is never the focus of the games (it's designed in such a way that it's more just a component of PvE), so I'm not surprised that balancing it has never been much of a focus. Still, DS1's PvP was especially unbalanced, and this arena showcases it beautifully.
Over 400 battles in Ooracile, I realized that 80% is ganking group of casuals and noobs, 10% is invaders who running towards monsters during 1v1, 5% is backstab bait only or dark bead only or invisible pursuer users, 3% is healer, 2% is real honorable player. Such a game.
Isaac Jones well, almost half of the game was by red signed but even after that, 4man ganking squad waiting for invaders or summoning them is not normal, and invisible tracers and backstab only guys or else usually comes from 1v1 battle starting with bows. It was series of game users makes rules and almost everybody respected it so that even now DS3 pvp is still alive and we can stay in ended game. With that unspoke promises, Soul series pvp was held. But now, watch. Everybody just eager to win even they break eachother's rule and that will guide DS series's pvp into nothing, and most of players will leave.

if you use sun princess ring wich acts as a resonance ring,it affect the regen on replenishment,it also affects other spells.you can cast replenishment,remove the ring,you still keep the ring effect
Don't know if you know this, but the leo ring only affects physical damage, so while it does still benefit the Divine halberd, only the physical part of it's damage is going to get that boost. Still it's a good way to add some damage to a divine weapon.
jaxx marcano i just did 8 hours of invasions and came across 2 giant dads, and 1 backstab fisher, total. You only really get a lot of those when you go to oolacile or the forest in my experience
Hey Moose, I know this video is kinda old but would you recommend this build for PVE also or just PVP? If it's also PVE, what miracles should I use? Should I switch Replenishment with the Heal and Wog with a Homeward or Lightning Spear? Should level attunement more or is it ok at just 12? Thanks.
Ben Swalley oh, that’s odd. I assume it’s the same with magic and enchanted? Edit: nvm, I checked on mugenmonkey and it’s a pretty big difference in comparison to divine and occult.
I would use great magic barrier instead of replenishment its op in ds1 it reduces magic damage by like 90% and the leo ring boosts only the physical counter damage of the Halberd not the magic so i would use a different ring
It depends on the type of weapon. Only 3 of the modified weapon paths can go beyond +5, being Magic, Divine, and Fire. Lightning, Crystal, Occult, Chaos, Raw, Enchanted, and Boss weapons can only go to +5.
I've found about 10 duels with the honor password at sl 102 max weapon lvl. Most of the time i just set waiting for a match for like 30 minutes XD but the duels i do get are fun. most of them end in a draw but i'm more for the fun match than wins. so they're kinda worth the wait. if i do something else while i'm waiting. i do however block the fishers and spammers :v that way i never have to deal with them again.
I'd say about 40% of the people i've fought on the arena are fishers and spammers. And if I count just random invasions i'd say about 25%. I suppose i've been lucky. But having honor duels with the password has made everything a bit better :3
Isawaala It's an easy mode weapon in dks1 PvP. Golden Tracers have really good stun locking, bleed damage, and rely on the main tactic of R1 spam. It's a crutch weapon most often.
Why don't you parry when the opportunity rises? I saw your enemies gave you plenty of openings, just wring out your shield when you can expect them to chain their attacks and surprise them.
The miracle give me 10 per second and sanctus is 2 every other second. So it's something like 10,12,10,12,10,12. When the miracle is gone it's 0,2,0,2,0,2,0,2 lol.
it sucks for various reason, i'll put some: -30 vit is like nothing, a hornet bs with any weapon and a black flame and you are out. -leo ring sucks with infused weapons because the only damage wich it applies is the normal one. basically you multiply just half the damage of your weapons with the leo....shit. -40 end is a fuckton for a build using mainly a halberd and not stacking poise at sl100. drop that down to increase vit. -you can have decent damage with all the miracles at 30 faith and you have the same damage of 50 faith divine weapons with chaos infused weapon, so it's useless to put that much faith unless you wanto to be meme and 1shot people, but if this build is meant for honorable pvp...well it's totally not worth it...expecially with 12 att wich grants you only 2 casts.

@@DeathtoRaiden1 I does have meaning. Tell me a game similar dark souls that had good tracking in 2011. I agree on PvP being shit but the pve is very good for a game in 2011 even with its sometimes poor tracking or broken hitboxes on some enemies.

Do you realize that basically all of the best action games were made not just before DaS1 but like a full decade before? From is only now catching up to their mechanics with Sekiro and even then they had to make them very lenient and not put in too many as to not spook the fanbase. The encounter design was also really dumbed down from Demon's Souls. In DaS1 90% of the encounters consist of fighting a single enemy with poor tracking, in DeS you had more multiple enemy encounters and i can't remember if the tracking was that poor but the AI certainly felt more aggressive and the telegraphs were shorter. The combat in Souls games is not bad but it's not mind blowing either and DaS1 is the weakest of all of them.

Personally, I find ds1 combat more fun then other action RPGs I've played but that's my own opinion on the matter since I haven't heard of many good old action RPGs, can ya give some examples for me to potentially try out?

I used this build for PVE. The DLC area is kinda hard tho :/ The miracles are up to you for pve I like a lightning spear and regen :)

Not really. It has higher scaling, but ends up dealing less damage.

It's a super easy PvP build when fighting against people who don't know how to fight against the weapon, the weapon is a really spamable weapon.
