.. farmers used to plant tall growing trees, either a pine or a palm, next to their homesteads, so that travellers could see it from a distance, like a beacon. People were more hospitable back then, offering accommodation for the night or assistance to those in need.
I enjoy these so much,everyone needs a break once in awhile.,but I'll be here waiting,these homes can't be replaced.I love them.If walls could talk❤️🇺🇸🤗
Every old home deserves to be remembered no matter the shape it's in. I thank you for what you do for us. Without you we would have never seen these old beauties.
I actually put in an offer to buy this home (the first one on the vid) way back in 1991... but our offer was beaten by a cash buyer for just a fraction over what we put in. What a shame, as we wanted to restore it back to its former glory. I remember there was a cellar nailed shut in the kitchen floor and my first intended job was to open it and look inside! The home needed work back then (no. 1 item being a new roof) but was otherwise reasonably sound and would've easily lasted another 100 years -if only people had looked after it! Never mind, we ended up saving another old home from dilapidation, but it was quite confronting seeing what had happened to this old gem- haven't been past it for several years now but thanks so much for presenting it to us out here in armchair land
Hi Sue :-) Wow amazing to hear your story about this one, dam I wish your offer was accepted and you got the chance to restore it. It is a nice Bungalow looking home and would have come up a treat. A nice secluded spot without being out in the desert :-) Glad I was able to give you a look at it after all these years Sue, cheers for telling us your story of this place and for watching :-)
I haven't seen these videos here before so I'm seeing them for the first time and I'm really enjoying seeing them and just do what you have to do and until you make more new videos I'll be enjoying these older ones here take care and Thank You.🇦🇺🤠👌🇦🇺
🌟Hi Paul, beautiful old relics out in the country so peaceful and quiet so much character and history love the rustic look if those walls could talk the stories they would tell. Love it. Thank you for the tour. ❤😊x
Good luck in your cat homing endeavors! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to preserving the old homes through video. I appreciate your hard work. Enjoy your time away!
It's sad to see some of these homes in the state of decay and just thinking about what they would've looked like in there hay day ,thankyou showing us these homes of the past.
Oooh I do like the rural videos. Looks snakey with all those tyres laying about. Rural area I grew up, an Italian family of 9 lived in a rickety old 2 bedroom house until council said it was uninhabitable. If you found that back then you would have thought it was abandoned for many years. They built a new house not 100metres from the old one, all gaudy purple & yellow tiles inside. I saw it, they gave me wine with dinner & I was 13 LOL.
Hi paul, good to see some country in the back ground. Love the city of Adelaide, change is good too. Love the way you show us these properties. Cheers deb 😊
Some cool places there mate, firstly the first home im thinking up there in the lobby might of been a grow spot. The second loved that ceiling rose and all the natural decay, and dam those blasted pigeons. Hey mate good luck rehoming the Kitties cheers mate.
These old homes are so interesting. I live in a farm state and we used to have a lot of old abandoned ones. As a kid, we would stop and explore. It's fun but you have to be careful. Thanks so much!
Hey Paul. Thanks for another very interesting and informative video. The first house looked like a California bungalow. Palm tree included. I think the tyre enclosure could have been an equestrian menage for doing dressage. Just a guess. The second house was still a beauty. Very photographic. 👍🍺🇦🇺
There is always one chair sitting in the middle of the kitchen or in front of the fireplace I call these chairs the ghost chairs maybe after you or anyone leaves they just calmly go back to their favourite chair
All the tires at the first “house of pigeons” has me stumped. It would be interesting to see a video on your work with rehoming the kitties😊. Enjoy your vacation and thank you for sharing The history of Australia with us !👍🏻😊🌷
That place is a shell of its former self, sadly enough. What do you think all the tires were for? I dont believe I've ever seen so much Crap in one place!! Lol thanks Paul for the walk. 💜☮️
Wow, that place looks like it's been empty longer that just 2000. Amazing how fast things can deteriorate. I love when you explore the country places. I enjoy seeing your Australian land. Even the rugged places. Those tires were a mystery. Thanks.
Urbex Indigo thanks for sharing this video with me i really enjoyed it so much the bost places that you whoed was not much left to them it must of lookedgood back in the day i am from the U.S.A and have good day and God Bless.
Well, these places are in pretty rough shape, to say the least, Excramentally, ruined too far gone now to do anything with but look around in and film. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, MM :)

What is the small fenced off rectangular area outside on the right of the 2nd house's verandah. Could it have been where the bunker was built during WW2. They were quite common in Australia and in later years got filled in? I could be way off. Any other purpose suggestions?
Yeah I said not handling anything in that place because of all bird poop it look like dropping junk there it with out people for every little ng time all other people left witch suck
Strange to see what appears to be a Mexican Fan Palm next to the first bungalow in Australia. These palms line many streets in SoCal.

Both are move in ready!

The second house has good bones and is worth saving. It does not look like the ground has shifted enough to pull the walls apart. Nice
