Great video, thank you very much for sharing. One misconception I had that this video dispelled was that foam filling gave you more buoyancy, however as I've just learned it's only for sound deadening.

It’s not only just for sound detanings that’s just one more thing it does it’s mainly so if it gets swamped and or punched it will still float to a certain extent

@@boatingdownunder7284 actually there are Chinese knockoffs of stabicrafts, the welds are poor and the hull is much less stable though

False advertising pontoons cannot make a boat more stable. A boat with the same hull shape under waterline will be just as stable i.e. large chines. Pontoons are only better in the event of swamping due to sealed buoyancy chambers. You cannot make the claim that the buoyancy chambers themselves rather than the chines they create make the boat more stable.

Interested enought to comment? I think they are great boats however you need to be honest in your claims. Increased buoyancy if swamped over a standard boat without pontoons - Agreed. More stability under normal use than a non pontoon boat with wide chines and similar displacement - NO!!!

Mark Hill actually well on the go its as good as a bar crusher but when stand still on choppy sea its as stable as a wide hull boat as the pontoons will help it from listing side to side. Deep v hull boat tend to do is lean alot when weight is transfer to one side to the other. Stabicraft is best of both world. Go on a bar crusher n then a stabi you will understand. Also bouyancy when sinking? Well all sealed deck boat that made to go offshore will not sink. They filled with air pockets n foams. Either way if it does flip u have something to hang on too. I went out once on my 6.2 n the bung fell off for half a day still she didnt sink. It sat lower to the water but didnt go down. Only realised when i made port again. She is not stabicraft but a stessel yellowfin. If my 20 years plus boat dont swamp than stabi sure hell wont. My next boat. Thinking the 2750 hardtop

I owned a Barcrusher 560C and have been on a stabicraft both great biats. Not disputing that. I am saying pontoons only real advantage is positive floatation if swamped or capsized. To prove it get a Stabicraft and cut holes in every pontoon from the inside of the boat. The stability will not change. It is only the displacement and size of reverse chines that give the stability. Understand.

pontoon boats are way more stable! what crap you are talking, i have owned both and pontoon is so much more stable as there is less side to side as the pontoon is like a big circle floating on the surface that cant be pushed down under the water. Waaaay less rocking at rest.
