      @@666Lachrimae666 I'm glad I make you laugh. I tried to curb the amount of expletives I used in this video because my dad watched one of my vides and said my language is trashy and disowned me. I think I will hollow the printer out and start growing plants in it.
      If you see little dents in the part where you open it to get to the ink, that is because I slammed the little door like 869,000 times thinking that it would get it to print, lol. Those phuckers over at HP are straight up ink communists. "You will own nothing and be happy" should be their motto instead of "Never run out of ink".

    Amazon gives you an option to show UPS a QR code and they print a return label and put it in a box free to you. You don't need to print that QR code either they can scan it from your phone. I also hate how wasteful HP is. Those ink cartridges that they sent you during your subscription technically belong to them even if you were paying them a fortune every month. You can always go to the store and buy one and insert it and it won't require you to have a subscription. But it's not worth it. Just get a laser printer. You can use it and put it in the closet for a year or two and take it out again and it will print with no complaints. It has toner not ink so it never dries and the toner lasts forever as long as it's not too humid.

      Your best bet is to go for a laser printer or a Brother brand inkjet. The cheaper the printer, the more the ink usually costs. These companies do not make their money from the sales of the printers. They make money from selling ink.
      Sadly I have a feeling more and more companies are going to go this route too soon. When one company finds a way to chisel more money out of people, more companies follow the same marketing gimmick.

    • @FuturesPast1

      When you sign up there are terms and conditions that most people don't read. If you do not use the printer that much you keep paying and paying. When you finally don't want the subscription anymore, they brick your printer and it won't work anymore. The ink cartridges could be full, but they still will not work. It is such a waste.
      You can buy branded cartridges elsewhere. However you have to get on the phone with customer service and get stuck on the phone for like 45 minutes to have them cancel your membership first. If not, the other cartridges you buy will not work either. Also, once your credit card is on file for instant ink, they will not remove it from your profile. Customer service will tell you they cannot take your card off your account.
      While I know I signed up for this, I have 5 boxes of ink I kept paying monthly for that I never used. It is a ripoff for people that only casually need to print things. It is like you are renting your printer and it blows.

    Get a laser printer.

    • @FuturesPast1
      @FuturesPast1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While that is the best idea, I don't print enough things to warrant it. If I were to get a new printer it would be a Brother brand laser printer. At least they aren't pulling these stunts on people yet.

  • @chrisbailey7384
    @chrisbailey7384 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You should go "Office Spaces" to the printer, that will guarantee it would get it to print!

  • @Jayrod64
    @Jayrod64 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Not only are you forced to pay for a product that you don't truly own, but the subscription runs out, they can essentially brick your printer. I hate this.

    • @FuturesPast1
      @FuturesPast1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sucks. Believe it or not a lot of people defend this and say 'Well you knew what you were signing up for". However, if you do not print many things, you will come up the loser unless you keep paying for something you won't be using a lot.

  • @thawmeout9137
    @thawmeout9137 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    yeah it sucks, I'd recommend that you sell that printer and buy a second hand black&white laser printer instead they are faster ink efficient and ink inside them never dry cause its already in a powdered form, brother is a good brand but do check the model and make sure it doesn't comes with some subscription bullshit.

    • @FuturesPast1
      @FuturesPast1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I heard Brother makes good printers. I used to have a laser printer but it was huge and I needed something more compact. I saw this and thought it would be perfect to set out on my desk.
      Sadly, mine is all banged up from punching it and smacking it so many times trying to get it to print, before I realized they bricked it so it can no longer print unless I continue the subscription. Nobody is going to buy a beat up printer and sadly, I will have to toss this in the landfill because of shitty companies like this.

    Truer words were never spoken. I bought one about 7 months ago. I studied up on the contract, knew that I was basically buying a disposable printer. Having just tried to fix 7 printers to that point, and throw away 7 printers, it seemed pretty wasteful for me to buy a disposable printer. But that instant ink though. I printed up pictures for everybody. I made my doctors (5) each a book with color photographs of my disease we are trying to fight, I sent one to my counselor, one to disability, I saved one and saved one for my Mom and saved one for whichever kid may be taking care of my later in life. I mean to tell ya, I made everybody puke for days at the 25 big glossy pictures in great color. Of course, you can’t put any size paper in besides 8x10, you can only load 10 sheets at a time, and it takes 3 minutes each sheet to print out. But hey, you get a shit ton of ink in the mail. I print up business cards, stickers, stationery, random words that I can put in my hand made cards, all of my financial documents, screenshots of memes so I can show my friend, I photoshopped her ex-husband’s head on a bikini girl on top of a car and printed them out, we stuck them all over his car, LOL
    Any recipe that looks good, print out all my eBay listings alphabetically, by category, whatever. I pop a photo of each thing in storage bins onto a collage site and tape it to each bin to stay organized. I mean to tell ya, I planned on milking every cent out of my 700 pages a month free 6 month membership. It randomly stopped at 4 months and I had to call and speak loudly to them, but I was back to good in about 3 weeks.
    Then I found myself frantically trying to print out anything I could get my hands on and realized how much I use it. I thought that 700 per month was preposterous. But I could still print out more, and it’s not broken yet. The minute it breaks or my bedroom is full of paper, I’ll cancel it. In the meantime, I lowered to the 300/month and pay $11.99 to have the freedom of not having to go to the library.
    But I agree, it is BULLSHIT if you don’t print things like a maniac, and have time to keep feeding the beast. Still disposable, but I’m not quite done with it yet. It was the cheapest printer they had, and no ink cost? Yeah, I said yes to it.

      @FuturesPast1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am sorry to hear about your illness. I pray you get better soon.
      It is a good deal if you constantly are printing things. For some people this is not a rip off. However, If you sporadically use the printer maybe once or twice a month you end up over paying and they send a whole bunch of you ink you can't use the minute your credit card runs out. For people like me it turns into a paper weight that collects dust.

      @@FuturesPast1 I totally can see that. I originally thought I could turn it into money, printing out stickers and business cards, but I stopped myself and realized I would be adding another ridiculous loop of buying and selling, not making enough money to be worth my time, and spending more time than I have. I am stuck in too many of those loops. Remember! (I try telling myself) my mantra. I am not in the collecting business, I am in the liquidation business.
      …however… if I buy it and get it listed, it does sell in time. I have a huge investment pile. I have sold all the time available for the next 15 years.
      That is not what we were talking about. Sorry.
      I don’t know of anyone that the instant ink printer would actually fit but me, and I am keeping a suspicious eye on it.
      BTW, you are in to true crime? I think you said that. Do you watch the trials? They are bonkers right now.
