  • This webinar will provide an introduction to co-property law in Quebec in order to familiarize participants with the key regulations governing condominium property, including the following topics:
    - Determining what constitutes a Common portion versus Common portion for restricted use versus a Private portion in a divided co-ownership
    - Decisional organs a syndicate of co-ownership
    - Rights and duties of a syndicate of co-ownership
    - Decisions: General Meetings of the Co-Owners vs. Board of Directors
    - Convening General Meetings of the Co-Owners and majorities required for decisions
    - The Registers of a syndicate of co-ownership
    - The budget and contingency fund of a syndicate of co-ownership
    - Read and understand the declaration of co-ownership and cadastral plan in Condominiums
    - Work and repairs in Condominiums
    - Dealing with the unpaid Common Expenses
    - Defects and Damages in Condominium: who is responsible for what?
    - Condominium Insurance
    Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions in English or French.

    Compared to the rules and regulations in the US versus Montreal Canada bad odors in a Condo unit are acceptable, but not in the US...?

    is it true that as of December 2018, effectively everything in the unit is to be considered a common element and as such is the responsibility of the building? ex. air conditioner & HVAC equipment that is housed inside the unit but attached to the wall? Is this regulation 1044 or does another one apply?
