    I got that piano 6 months ago and I like it a lot. My room is small AF and I have to share it with my sister and I can't believe the piano actually fits in my room. They were right! The piano will fit in EVERY room smh but it will. Everything is fine with the piano but I do think that the keys are a bit too hard.. If you have questions write a question under this comment or if you wanna make sure that I will reply, write it at one of my videos on my channel!

      @JitinMisra I find the CFX sample very good, I could not tell that it is not real it just sounds natural. The speakers are also great, didn't experience anything of bad quality on this piano whatsoever. Has been a great instrument for 5 years already and I could not upgrade it because there is nothing to upgrade to honestly :)

    How is the feel of it compared to an upright or baby grand? Are the keys weighted?

    • @agaveboy
      @agaveboy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I can help you with everything- I love digital pianos: The keys are weighted and scaled.The keys are GH3 synthetic ebony and ivory keytops. They feel almost EXACTLY like a real piano, but there are better key actions by Yamaha. I will rate all of them for you here:
      (Press Read More)
      Note: all prices are in USD.
      GHS - The worst weighted key action. Repetitions are nearly impossible and the keys are plastic, but they are weighted and scaled. These keys feel almost like a grand piano. Price on digital pianos: $500-$1,000
      GHE-An upgrade of the GHS. These keys are still plastic, but swing up faster and are slightly heavier like a real grand piano. They are scaled and weighted. The faster swing up allows for faster note repetition than on the GHS keys. Price on digital pianos: $500-$1,100
      GH3- An upgrade of the GHE. These keys are synthetic ebony and ivory (which is what real grand pianos keys are made of) and feature triple sensor action. They also swing back even faster than the GHE keys. Triple sensor action allows for the fastest possible note repetition, as the key does not have to swing back up after being depressed to make another sound. These keys would satisfy almost all players, beginner or advanced. They are heavier than both GHS and GHE keys. They are scaled and weighted. Price on digital pianos: $1,339-$2,100 (These are the keys on this digital piano, the YDP-S54)
      GH3X- The same thing as GH3 keys, however these keys feature escapement. Escapement on a grand piano is the small click you feel when a note is depressed all the way down. This is the only upgrade to GH3X keys from GH3. They are scaled and weighted. Price on digital pianos: $2,000-$5,000
      NW-GH3-An upgrade of the GH3. These keys are synthetic wood instead of synthetic ebony/ivory keytops as on the GH3 or GH3X. They are scaled and weighted. Price on a digital piano: $2,300 (only one model has these keys, the CP88 stage piano)
      NWX-These keys are an upgraded version of the NW-GH3. They feature escapement, which is the small click you feel when a note is depressed all the way down. This is the only upgrade from GH3 to NW-GH3. Think of them like the wood version of the GH3X. They are scaled and weighted. Price on digital pianos: $1,500-$3,499
      GrandTouch-These keys are Yamaha's latest and greatest keys. They are linear-scaled synthetic ebony and ivory keys. They feature escapement and are slightly more heavy than the NWX keys but swing back just as fast. They are scaled and weighted. These keys feel exactly like a grand piano. Instead of being scaled in blocks, each note is scaled. They are made of wood and have synthetic ebony and ivory key tops. Price on digital pianos: $4,699-$15,000
      If you have questions on sampling, let me know! And remember, all of these keys are scaled and weighted.

      @@agaveboy Thank you for this thorough comment. The #1 thing when shopping for keyboards should be the action but it's not easy to figure out what's what. Looks like I'll be looking at GH3 and above.
      What has always bothered me about digital pianos is that the action always *feel* heavier than on an acoustic. I wonder if it's due to the lack of escapement?

    • @agaveboy
      @agaveboy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elben Shira Japanese and American digital pianos are known for having very heavy action - the escapement does help with making it lighter, but the lightest keys you will get that are quality are GH3X.

    • @silverteinbas
      @silverteinbas 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just wanted to say that I used to like Roland pianos a lot, especially when listening to one note/key at a time; but then when playing chords I found out that Yamaha pianos sound much better or "natural" (at least for my taste), whereas chords or many notes together on Roland pianos sound kind of too "separate".
      The best thing of course is to try and compare them yourself:)
