We had the same problem we bought the hacksaw blade and kept sawing until the bolt fell off! It worked. My husband did the sawing I wasn't strong enough. I did the cleanup and put the new seat on. We have an old green toilet with a white seat! Isn't pretty but it's functional. Thank you for the video!

This video came in very handy. I followed the advice and used a hacksaw to cut the screwhead off and it worked perfectly. Thank you.

If the bolts are slotted,, easy to drill out from topside,,,1/4" drillbit.
If different like mine was, I used plastic welder from Harbor Freight (amounts to extra hot solder appliance -$10),
to melt out the nylon nuts. Extra hot soldering gun with spade adapter would probably work as well.

I am having a big trouble with that!. The screw is too big...and the bolt are stuck...I try to remove the bolt but the screw is going around together with the bolt. I need to change the seat...and it's seems to be impossible. I don't know what to do as it is too tight. Could you help me? PLEASE! (on your Video...1:51 min...I see your screw. Mine is bigger..however the problem is ..your is also stuk..(not only the bolt)...but mine GOES with the bolt...so it's impossible to remove. Too tight..and both goes together....so, how can I remove one of them? (The bolt)...I am going crazy/mad! I don't know how to put the new seat there! You are trying with your screw driver on the top part...but mine here is still with the part of the old seat...and doesn't come off....I have to remove the bolt from the ling screw underneath the vase. I have no idea what else I could do!!. Mine is not rusty...it's just TIGHT. I've tried everything..I don't know what to do!.

@@jjpalau I donn.t know if your comment is about the problem I had or it;s about this Video here...but ok Anyway I will tell you what happened on the situation here in my home. YES! lol...on the same day...I came back to this Video, trying to understant it better and make sure if I've missed any "precious" information....suddenly...wow... at 2:59 minutes, he use a "Hacksaw"...and what he did by the top...was not the case here for me, because the screw was stuck on the bottom part of that. In this Video we can see the screw "uncovered". Mine had a metal cover...and all the job should be done on the botom part where the bolt was. Again..Impossible...as there was not space enough to fit the Hnacksaw. Then....I tried sawing on the top part (like him), however it was hard, as the Hacksaw had to fit "underneath" the "cover/lid that covers the screw) (it makes part of the toilete seat hinges). I spent almost an hour treing to saw that...and guess what?...I did it!. I was very happy, beluev me! lol lollo.I hope you understand my poor english! lol.

ImJustAsBad......The problem here is solved. I want to thank you for this helpful Video. What you have done at 2:59 minutes, using a Hacksaw...on the top part...I had to do under the " Toillet Hinge cover".....it was hard to fit the Hacksaw in between the cover and the Vase...but after almost an hour sawing that, I did it. So...many thanks to you for this sharing this Video. Really useful.

badly scratched pan. 😞 try multy tool or wrap the saw with an old towel except the few inches of blade that you actually need.🙂
