Debe ser como dice el otro usuario, quizá para poder darle más volumen a cada nota. Nunca había visto hacer eso, me sorprendió mucho. Ahora cuando tenga que hacer una escala en staccatto y forte voy a considerar la digitación Martita, si ella lo hace...
I heard no real difference to the other scales - try as I might. I will have to try practising ascending scales in pieces and using one finger - against what my piano-teacher showed me, oh, about 60 years ago.

I read that she almost gave up piano in her 20s because she was desperate to study with Horowitz, but it wasnt possible. It was a blessing in disguise, because Horowitz didnt like teaching and was indifferent at it.
