Is interesting. This video give me remember older files in older PC. Mario msdos, bubble gum premium edition , boomer, flash yeati games, and 3d ball game. Hmm
I tried everything possible to make Carmageddon run in Glide on my Banshee and Voodoo 3s, but it just does not work. It works in software mode, but not in Glide. Can you please tell me what you did to make it work in Glide ?
Having both the game and driver installed correctly. If the game isn't, it won't run a feature that doesn't exist. If the driver isn't, well it won't run for any game. Glide support is notoriously not ootb for games, unless when it is. Most games do not support glide off the disk, and required update patches. It doesn't help that games would resell updated versions and had multiple releases, making support confusing. The voodoo cards could also have IRQ conflicts on 9x, or drivers being bad versions. People who didn't grow up with a voodoo probably don't know how finicky 3d support was, and 3dfx was literally the best back then, even to the point of voodoo 2sli beating a GeForce, and games mostly just worked when they had proper support.
@@JohnSmith-qn3obthats interesting, there is litterally almost no tearing on my PC or mobile watching this video. Also it is captured by a capture card, and it records whole frames, it cannot have tearing. Also, I dont see any tearing on 1080p on mobile or PC when watching this video. Maybe it is your device?
@@aebtdom It's not me. The capture device doesn't matter. Tearing happens because of the video card, not the capture device. You have to turn on VSYNC in the graphics settings. Also I downloaded your video and played it in MPC-BE with the tearing test turned on. It's not me, it's your video.
@@JohnSmith-qn3obokay, so what are the autoexec.bat lines for my voodoo2 card to change the hz from 120 to 60 and then apply vsync in puremsdos? And even then, when it drops below 60. Or do you know a way to cap my fps to 30 in every game?
Those cards made a huge difference in detail.
Interesting video. Would be nice to see some more 3d games from 1997-1999 running on this system.

Back in the day i downloaded a 3dfx patch file for in DOS, then it just run on my voodoo card. There were no tricks
@@Kaido_928 Voodoo 1 or a different one ?
@@3dfxvoodoocards6 voodoo1 yes. I think it put in a new exe file for the opengl version to run
Carmageddon has as far as I know only glide support for a voodoo1 and voodoo2, the second one is tricky
Sorry, i still LOL to this day when i see the Carmageddon flag waver/race starter get run over and burst into pieces.
Yeah, that intro was one of the highlights of the game, very impressive cgi for the time.
You really need to turn VSYNC on
Why is that?
@@aebtdom Because of all the screen tearing in your video
