He had a big following in the 60-70s but right after the Let it Flow LP (which was huge for him) he, like so many acts of those days, began to go to the wayside as New Wave & big hair ballad rock bands ruled the 80s. But Dave Mason is still around to this day!
I was there, somewhere near the left side delay tower. We ditched school, camped in the parking lot. Later, after some people had torn the west fence down in the early am we walked in and slept near that tower until the show started in the morning. I still have my un-torn ticket to the show.
Saw Dave M. in concert on Maui about 10 years ago. Wasn't a huge fan, but after seeing him live was blown away and am now a big fan of his. Seems like a nice, down to earth dude too.
My father introduced me to Dave Mason in the spring of 1991. The coolest part was that I was only 7 and fell in love with Mason's music as well as Steely Dan's at the same time!

I absolutely love Dave Mason. "Mariposa De Oro" was one of the albums that started me on rock music when I was just 3 years old.
