I visited there when I was about 6 or 7 y/o with my mom and older brothers. I think the year was 1970 or ‘71. It was truly a gratifying memory for me. I am now 60 y/o and tweetsy railroad is on my bucket list. It’s insane that this place is still open after all this time. I have a photo during that time where I’m looking out from behind the bars at the jail. I think my mom took it. It truly brings tears. Thank you.
Wow! I hope you can revisit soon and step foot once again in some of those same buildings, and maybe even go on a ride or two you went on years ago. I’m glad I could show you around the park in this video! Thank you for sharing your story. -Andrew
Yeah, I just remember the jail only because of the photo I have. I think I remember the small train and going thru the dark tunnel, but that’s about it for my memories. Since about 1970, when I visited as a boy, I’m not sure which rides or buildings were there. I don’t even remember the overhead transport to get from one section to another. I’d like to gather all my memories of places I went as a little boy and put those places on my ‘bucket list’ to enjoy once more before it’s my time to be called ‘Home.’
Loved this man! I grew up going to this park as a kid and is so cool to get to go back there virtually through this video. Brought back so many fun memories. Thank you for this!
@@shakendrake same! I’ve been trying to get there for years and today is finally the day. Thanks for subscribing! I’m based in Raleigh but go to parks and attractions all over the place. -A
Yeah man the park is amazing thanks for visiting I fist went when I was 2 and I’m 15 now I get passes every year now and go there to just film the trains and special events for Tweetsie social media I would recommend Halloween and Christmas but… Halloween is very repetitive same show every year Great video
Awesome! The Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster is in Banner Elk too. There's also The Land of Oz, but that's more expensive, sells out months in advance, and is typically open only weekends in September. I have videos on both! Wilderness Run: th-cam.com/video/clplpva6F-Y/w-d-xo.html Land of Oz: th-cam.com/video/st-P-Q5NXxk/w-d-xo.html

Do kids need to pay to get on the rides?
Tweetsie charges an admission fee for the park. Ages 3-12 is $39. 13+ is $58. -A
So that means the rides for kids are included
@@tapialuis46 yep! All rides are included in the cost of admission.
