- Here is the 2021 ringing video - many thanks to Tony Cross once again. Brilliant job. Thanks also to Richard Rees for the GoPro HeadCam footage.

What beautiful birds. They are so precious just waiting still and quiet not knowing what's about to happen to them.
Beautiful video! And special thanjs for the wonderful song - it brought my soul and my thoughts from Germany to the wonderful welsh landscape, the Coast Path, Tenby, the Preseli I had the chance to get to know and to enjoy... and the very friendly people I met there.
I am in Carnforth not far from Foulshaw Moss reserve in Cumbria, where we have a returning pair of Ospreys every year.... They haven't done the ringing videos for a couple of years and I really miss them... I sat here with a great big smile on my face!! I am so incredibly jealous of that man that has the licence to handle these stunning birds!! Thank you so much for posting this x

Wonderful and very moving, I was there on the day of the ringing, my very first visit to an osprey nest!
Having done video editing on tape, in the late '70s, back in the last Century, it's a wonderful congratulations for what you have done Emyr.

Stunning birds, excellent video and amazing work carried out by these brilliant people. Just to echo what others have said I am amazed at how calm the birds remain throughout the process. Do the parents ever get involved when approaching the nest or are they used to it now ?
Parents soaring overhead calling out to chicks to 'pancake'...thanatosis = lie flat and still. Defense mechanism. Male parent,'Idris',particularly vocal this year.

Interesting to keep track of what bird goes where but it's a shame wild birds can't be just left alone.
These chicks are not tracked and if it wasn't for projects such as this one, we would have no ospreys in the wild!
@@sianillwyd2267 agree with the project of course but not convinced on the need for ringing. Especially when it's done with nets which I appreciate this isn't.
@@arnold80s94 I guess that ringing is a personal point of view, but you can rest assured that this project puts the welfare of these ospreys first and foremost.
