ðĪĢ yes, yes it was all in the interests of science of course, though I think my speed test sample may need to be expanded to provide me with a more robust data set, after all I made no account of the breeze or trim. Naturally such research may involve further coffee brakes on any passing islands I may find.
Great video Robin, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Steering the RIB is a great experience for your kids, they too will follow your passion for the sea and the islands.
Looks like the 4x4 of the sea can handle both waves and family adventures! The smiles and interest on the kidâs faces are all anyone needs to know about justifying it to yourself or others!!!ðĪð Why stick to just a road trip when you can have a sea trip too? ð Another great video Robin, beautifully and skilfully crafted! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Paul as always for your support, watched it this morning after the couple of days since the edit and see mistakes I missed before, but perfection is the enemy of progress in this and as you say the interest and the faces are exactly the point. They were perfect. I have a little dream where the roof tent is set up by water and the RIB is bobbing nearby making promises about the morning as she lies to her huge array of anchors. Marshmallows of course to complete the scene ð
@@VISTATREKKER I think you're mentally penning the script for your next adventure ðððĨ... I hope so!!! And as for the errors, as Bruce Lee (I think) once said, "Mistakes are always forgivable if one has the courage to admit them." - Me? I make so many I rarely if ever spot them in others!!!
Loving your insight. Interesting that you are getting similar speeds. I am pushing a 6m with a 115 suzuki. Changed my prop and lost about 6 knots of speed but getting improved economy - I might change back. Looking good as usual.
Thanks Denis, appreciate your feedback, propellers seem to be a real science with too many variables to be able to afford to try them all, yet to get it right thatâs what you would need to do for each new hull. All I changed was reducing pitch from 21 to 19, but then thereâs diameter in fractions and number of blades, which is surely right for me at 3, but still if sheâs not burning too much and we can have the craic I reckon weâre good. My hull and boat are not really optimised for too much speed either.
@@saschahohenberger7969 havenât worked out an accurate figure for sustained cruise but itâs very low. Average consumption for a day out like this one is 8 - 10 litres. Most I ever burned in a day out was 18litres and that was the Jamesonâs cove episode and that would have included a good bit of time at wide open throttle in the race to get home on time. This is a very economic setup.
Very valuable research Robin! ð The Summer and calm waters await! Looked like a fab day out for you all on another wonderful island! ðĪ

Darragh great to hear from you and thank you for the feedback. I think and I hope they will.

@@SirMossalot_Paul well said Paul. Couldnât agree more. No point focusing on those of others because your own are the easier fix.
Another brilliant video ð
Hey thank you for the feedback. Very much appreciated thank you.
Lovely video. And what a nice trip out with your family. Really enjoyed learning about the boat. Thank you for sharing!
Youâre very welcome, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback.
Fantastic Robin.
Thank you for watching Dermot. Not your natural subject, well speed is I suppose. I might turn you into a sailor yet ð

How is the consumption at average cruise speeds ?
