Hi Michele, I've never seen this technique before, I like the feathering very much and will apply it after I practice this one a few times. This would work well in portraits, not my forte but I keep trying. Do keep warm this winter, just heard about UK's extravagant heating increase. Thank you for sharing and take care.
I sometimes walk by my studio and hang my head. I'm out of ideas, I doubt my abilities, I don't want to mess things up... Then I watch a Michele Webber video and get to work trying out the tips. The sun comes out at last. Stay cheerful and keep teaching. I love it!
I am a beginner but still run into pushing myself...afraid of who knows what... I love watching watercolor and just playing with my vivid colors sometimes. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend!
You are one of the most creative people I have seen. I am a bran new painter starting at the age of 83 I decided to draw my great grandchildren from photos I’m doing ok and the drawings look like them. Now I want to paint them. Wish me luck!!! I am learning so much from your videos. Thank you
You know the saying “when you are ready the teacher comes”. I have been having trouble with the drying lines as I haven’t learned to control my water in the brush and how to fix it when it happens, which is often. So thank you. I am looking forward to your next one.
AWESOME hint Michele. I have watched hundreds of tutorials and have not seen this. I have had the water mark problem more times than I can count. I cannot wait to practice this.
Oh wow 😮 thanks ever so much for sharing theses essential tips!! I feel like you’re talking to me personally with these solutions to the very issues I have been having trouble with in the past! 💕 I have definitely not seen this explanation anywhere else & I truly appreciate you solving this problem for me. This is definitely a game changer for my painting! Hope you’re enjoying & having a wonderful rest of week & weekend!
You are almost there, Michelle!. I have spent the weekend watching your videos an two days ago you had 89K subscribers… it is now 90K! Amazing. I keep learning some tips here and there. I recently started painting watercolours after a while experimenting with other crafts and trying out wall murals (I had so much fun!) and your videos are a great refresher. Wonderfull!
Thank you so much for this very helpful video. I actually have been struggling with this problem, and then I just happened to run across your video. Again thank you and I can’t wait to try this technique tomorrow. ♥️
Once again I learn invaluable watercolor tips... just a beginner but enjoying your videos... love the coral top... you always look great! Thanks for being so generous with us! Have a great weekend Michelle! With love from a California Gramma ❤️
Thank you Michelle. This is a technique I have never seen before. I’m sure it will make a big difference in the success of my sky’s p. Thank you for sharing
That was magnificent!!! I sort of did this technique for soft skin tones, but your explanations took it to the next level for me! Also I think I finally understood why I keep getting puddles and uneven results when I pre-wet the paper. It was because I apply the paint with a too wet brush, but also because I use hot pressed paper (in order to go with color pencils on top). I must confess I don't know how to get precission, the corret tones (because watercolor dries lighter) or dark areas without color pencils or gouache on top of the watercolors so I avoid using cold pressed paper altogether.
I like these tips. I think I do this too....but not always with a brush. Sometimes I use a bit of paper towel or kitchen towel, preferably very slightly damp. I will try it with a soft brush next time.
really great demo... a tip i have not seen before. very helpful and thank you for sharing your discoveries. p.s. i love your new hair cut. very flattering and professional looking.
No, not seen this anywhere else! This is a great dry brush technique. Thank you for coming to the rescue yet again! and being so generous in sharing your techniques 🙏💕
Thank you for this tutorial, just what I needed for a piece I am working on. And thanks for the 5 tips. I enjoy and have learned so much watching your videos. Happy painting! :D
I haven't seen this technique before. I do know that Louise De Masi (who is a wonderful painter and teacher) talks constantly about hard edges vs soft edges and how to create or avoid them. My understanding is that the way to avoid hard edges when working wet in wet is to wet the entire area eg if working on a petal, wet the entire petal, then paint on your colour and run the brush up the leading edge. This is a great way to work but can be tricky to get the results you want, particularly for beginners.. I feel that your technique would produce instantly great results even for beginners and would be a time saver in that you are not always waiting for large areas to dry.
Hi Michele, great and accurate video as usual. Yes, I do use this technique and I actually learned it from a let's make art watercolor video, a Sarah Cray's tutorial ( I don't remember which one exactly). It's a great technique for fixing unwanted hard edges or blending variegated washes while the painting is still wet. It's a bit like the blending technique used with acrylics, isn't it? You're right when you suggest to have more than one brush at hand, I always end up with wetting the one I was determined to keep dry...
Take it with a grain of salt, 'cause I'm struggling to remember which video was it... But as I haven't watched that many, I think it was the rainstorm tutorial... The technique wasn't explained so in detail she used it for some problem fixing... I deducted it could have wider ranges of application and from then I'm using it

Same to you!
All new to me! Thank you! Love how you have dunked your brush in your tea!! I sometimes dunk mine in coffee, lol!!

Happy to help!
Green nails made my day!
My favourite colour!
I’m excited to try this. I’ve always used plain water to blend out my lines, but this sounds better. Thank you!
It depends on the situation, a damp brush works too, especially on plain paper.
Just love your teaching ❤️ thank you so much , I always learn something when I watch one of your videos. Great job 👏 👍 👌

I like these tips. I think I do this too....but not always with a brush. Sometimes I use a bit of paper towel or kitchen towel, preferably very slightly damp. I will try it with a soft brush next time.
Cotton wool works too, and unlike paper it won't fall apart :-)
Thanks… brand new to me. However, I’m already seeing how valuable it *will be
Fascinating...I'm keen to try this..i have issues with drying lines regularly 🤦🏼♀️

Louise is right, where practical that's the safest way, but sometimes you need to adjust, or may forget to wet first.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Agreed! I think your method is so clever.

Found it! it's Monet's water lillies tutorial from minute 29:13 if you want to Watch it
Love it
Thank you!
Interesting technique. It probably needs some practice, but that’s a small price to pay for soft edges. Thank you!
You’re welcome 😊 Yes, there are several ways of getting soft edges, they all are good to practice.
luv!
Love it,love it,love it. Where's my brush!?
It's just over there... to the left of your water container ;-)

❤
Wet paper…..drier paint …..that right there is a gem.
Thank you!
I find mistakes are obliterated with a little bit of nail varnish remover
Michelle. You have a LOT of pulp litter on your samples. Maybe use cotton paper ? It looks too bumpy.
Ah, not being rich, I keep the expensive stuff for my own work, as long as I can demonstrate the technique effectively I don't worry too much :-)
Love your tutorials, not too sure about the green nails tho 😬xx
You should see my green car! xx
