I thank you for this inspiring video. I take photos regularly and remind myself that every photo doesnt have to be a banger. Photography is a personal view point to capture memories and share those moments. Recently my dad passed away and a few months before that i took photos of him and i am so glad that i did that as those photos will be with me forever. One of my favourite cameras is the FujiX100V as well, it’s so compact that I should carry it with me everyday.
I'm glad this showed up in my feed, thanks Andre! Having shot photos nearly daily since 2006, and usually collect my favorites into a yearly book, needless to say I strongly agree with everything here.
Thanks for the message which encourages people to value their personal experiences and to shoot for the love of photography. The message to take pictures even if they aren’t good pictures resounds with me. I don’t shoot for social media or for likes, (don’t even have a instagram or snap chat account), but I shoot for myself because of many of the reasons you encourage in your video, (documenting my life snd experiences). So liberating.
I have multiple cameras, in full-frame and APS-C. I've found the a6100 with the kit lens to be the best...it's light and quick and the images look great. I can even load things into my phone and edit 24mp images for the few that stand out. It's fun to look back even just a few years later and remember.
Great video, totally agree. I usually bring my camera, but the process of deleting and sorting images is a headache! Need to find a workflow there that works, how do you sort Andre, and in what program? Btw, that image at 3:19 is amazing! Classic chrome?
I don't really enjoy using my V (for strange reasons doubtless unique to a strange person). However, when I look at the photos I've chosen to have properly printed (45x30cm, Fujifilm paper) and put on my wall... they're mostly from the V.
This video earned you a sub. I wholeheartedly agree. I picked up an x100s for this purpose, but I'm finding it a little bulky. I'm considering selling it for the Ricoh gr3x for even more portability
How do you feel about the upcoming X100VI...I am excited for it since I have never owned the X100V and was not about to pay resell prices for a camera that is a few years old now....im glad there is the megapixel bump..the only thing is that Fujirumors has not said is that if it still has the built in ND filter..I hope it does..haha
My A7IV and my lenses are a pain to bring around. I always have to bring my backpack. I’m going to scoop the x100vi and make it a point to bring it with me everyday.
The size of the setup can matter. I have a Sony A7 IV,(love it), but thought the smaller Sony A7C, would be easier to bring with more places, allow me to shoot more, and document my life. I got my A7C 8 weeks ago after finding a great price on an open box model, and use it every day. I don’t use my A7 IV any less but really enjoy it when I do. I Share the tiny Sony, 50mm, f2.5, G lens across the A7IV & A7C which keeps costs down and enjoyment up as I am getting more milage out of my lenses. It has really been really fun to shoot with my A7C and I’m glad I got it as my everyday carry camera.
I’m 3 years away from completing what will be the worlds biggest book - 20 million words - thousands of images. The main task now is screenshotting hundreds of hours of camcorder footage.
Curious about that strap as well. Looks nice and appears to have quick release points. Edit: he mentioned it in a previous video th-cam.com/video/fyCPtqYiREI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Fdm-Lah3P3Z6c1hG - it’s a Moment strap.
dude drops this just a day or two away before the New camera version is revealed. -And I can’t afford one 😭 -But I've recently grown more to the XS-20 for video, a good hybrid for less.
This is an interesting question I used to wonder myself 2 years ago! My answer may be superficial but I wanted better quality pictures of my pets before they passed away. Something that could express the raw emotions I was feeling at this moment that a smartphone couldn't convey. It was too perfect and too smooth whereas I felt heartbreak over the passing of my pets. The second reason is I wanted to take photograpy more seriously and a camera is good to learn how to play with the light and shadows. Hopefully that answers partly to your question. Take care!
For me it's because, while you can take snaps with a phone, the quality of a dedicated camera is so much better. Also, the simple fact of carrying that camera makes you slow down, breathe, think the frame, and not just snap and move on.
“Invest in your own story”. What a great saying.

What a beautiful idea and video. Thank you, truly.
Fantastic video mate. Loved every bit of it.
After years i finally took my camera back out to start shooting again for this reason - then I saw this video which basically confirms my thoughts

What printer do you use for the smaller prints?
Oooohhh, I like the "Moment of the day" idea.

The shot at 4:06, was that a film emulation in camera? Which one because that looks phenomenal
Good advices!

This truly spoke to me! I needed this, thank you! I'm interested to know, how many photos do you keep each month? Do you set any limits for yourself?

Do you print photos yourself or use a service? I'd like to start doing that but not sure on options.
Where do you post your life that you document is there a link ?
Where can I buy this camera
perfect video. ❤I only wish the flash would be more easily accessible
Hi, love the prints! How do you get them done?
I’m 3 years away from completing what will be the worlds biggest book - 20 million words - thousands of images. The main task now is screenshotting hundreds of hours of camcorder footage.
This is a cool idea
thank you for the great video! Where can I purchase your camera strap? It looks really nice!

Serious question:
Why don’t simply use your phone to capture this kind of pictures?
No front - serious question.
