For over 50 years, Star Trek has given us a realistic dream of living and working in deep space. These wonderful actors are doing total justice to their respective parts. They will be responsible for keeping the dream alive for another 50 years. SNW is destined to become as great as the OS, TNG, VOY, and ENT. For that, old-school trekkies like myself thank them.
I zeroed in on the struggle of Erika Ortegas. What happens to someone when they forget who they are and where they fit in the world? A similar scene brought up similar questions in STNG episode "Sarek". Memory loss. That shaky space where reality is just beyond fingertips but cannot be grasped. It isn't very comfortable. We see Ortegas picking her way down the hall, then cowering at the foot of her bed in that spirit. We are with her not knowing how to get home or where she lives. "I'm Erika Ortegas and I fly the ship" gets packed with meaning, feeling, and knowledge every time she says it.
This is Star Trek. I'm totally digging Ortegas. Her character would fit in any of the old-school Trek shows and movies. Anson is a solid Starfleet captain. All the actors click together in true SF tradition. May they all LLAP! 🖖
This is a great group of actors (and producers and writers behind the scenes) that appreciate the canon of the classic series while exploring new areas.
What a wonderful conversation! I've been staring at the light fixture over Anson Mount's left shoulder and how it's slightly off-kilter. I have these exact same pendants in my dining room and I've been trying in vain for years to get the bulbs to line up with the glass. But if the captain of the Starship Enterprise can't make it work, I probably have no chance! 😂
I think Anson Mount made a very good point here: the idea of a Star Trek musical (and the record) should never have worked, but somehow it did. Totally the opposite of the last Joker movie, also a musical: it should HAVE worked, but it didn't. Hollywood producers should simply ask themselves why.
I followed Captain Pike from Discovery. I really liked him as the captain of Discovery and met some of the main players of Strange New Worlds via Discovery. Really like Spock's Character as well. He wrestles with his 'humanity' a lot. It took me a few episodes to get the general feel of SNW coming directly from Discovery where there is usually something earth shattering happening. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how a few story lines play out. Can't wait to see what's next.
As a now somewhat older (60ish) TOS fan; I can only say, I absolutely LOVE Star Trek: Strange New Worlds; and it's the only other STAR TREK franchise series that really competes for the #1 spot for me WRT TOS. SNW is a great show, and Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and the rest really do an AMAZING job with the legacy and the 'new' characters. I really hope we can get 5 - 6 seasons of this show with this amazing cast and crew. This was the type of Star Trek I was waiting for since TOS ended in 1969 - and I've really loved every minute of it and am jonesing for more. Please Keep of Trekkin' for as long as you guys can.👍
Generally I like this crew and the show. I don't understand how the creators decide how far to go when making a "prequel" though. Many things don't line up with TOS and they must know that The Botany Bay was launched in the 1990s in TOS, so how can Khan be a young boy in 2022? Oh and what they did to the Gorn, among so many other things. Couldn't they make a great show while being more consistent with TOS?

I play this album every morning to get my day started! such a great show and crew.
This is me too.
It has brought me great comfort.

Nice to see Rebecca found a place to call home😊
I'm glad that the musical was not just bursting into song but unique lyrics that forwarded the plot. (Ala Bitter Suite of Xena)
What a cast. What a show. Excellent
I'd love to see some outtakes/bloopers from that "Subspace Rhapsody" episode, to see what kind(s) of 'mischief' they had, too!
I seriously watch the musical episode over and over
i am just like you in that regard. I bought the album on itunes store. I do like celia singing also jess Bush, but they were all wonderful.

Is it just me or Ethan looks gorgeous in this interview?
When doesn't he? 😍
Uh oh! somebody else is falling in love with Spock all over again too!
The episode was hilarious. While they did dance occasionally, many scenes are Star Trek officers doing their jobs while singing.
what a lovely group
Wonderful!
Love this show ❤
You will be missed on the cruise! PS Melissa, your makeup is to die for
