THE BLUE HELL
In Batman: Arkham City there are different ways to access or explore the outside of the game map. These areas in video games are commonly known as "Blue Hell".
Inside Arkham City Processing Center and in the Collapsed Streets there are at least three ways to explore the Blue Hell.
You need the Remote Controlled Batarang to pass through non-solid walls of the map. In this way you can find unused parts of the game's map or see what's inside inaccessible rooms.
With this method you can see what's inside the famous locked room that many people believe is where Hugo Strange keeps his own Batsuit, as mentioned by The Riddler in an interview tape.
In the Processing Center you can also use the Remote Controlled Batarang on a non-solid wall to explore a hidden room. You can also see a glimpse of this room during the story, when Batman gain access to Wonder Tower to stop Protocol 10.
With the same method you can explore the Blue Hell in the Collapsed Streets.
A similar non-solid wall can be found inside the Church \ Medical Center of Arkham City.
Inside the old GCPD building you can easily access the Blue Hell using a little trick. Use the Line-Launcher as shown in the video and explore the building from the outside.
Inside the Steel Mill, you can get in the Blue Hell by standing on a ledge and spamming the button to throw freeze grenades (RT on Xbox 360, R2 on PlayStation 3 and "5" on PC). In this way Batman will slowly gain altitude, so you can glide and get on the roof of Manager's Office.
You can explore the Steel Mill from the outside and see part of Industrial District with low-quality textures.

Anyone who ever found a blue hell by accident always remembers how fucking creepy it was (because chances are you found it without knowing much about blue hells) the first time. Admittedly not as messed up as the first time a game breaking glitch happened. 'Why is his leg spinning round?.. Oh my God his leg is now his head, why is his head melting! WHY ARE THEY BECOMING MELTED CONJOINED TWINS!'

Happened to me in Arkham origins and broke my save file
Has anyone thought that this glitch was put here on purpose? Like,if it wasn't, then why would the artists and creators have detailed the rooms that you are not allowed to be in? It just doesn't seem like it was put there accidentally. What are your thoughts?

Lee Bratcher Most of the Blue Hell rooms are there to serve as background purpose. Rooms you can see through windows, for example.

Lee Bratcher bro one time i was gliding then building was glitched when i was trying to land and the fell to the blue hell
Also, when you use the grapnel boost to escape near the guard room, it is possible with careful gliding or Line Launchering (may need the tightrope upgrade too) to get to the Processing Center. If you do it properly, then the area is partially loaded and you can get to the wonder city elevator right near the start of the game.
Also, like in my vid, Blue Hells are connected via the same doors, when you go OOB in the Steel Mill, you can use the door there and explore Arkham City inside the Mill!

I remember I teleported into that "blue hell" room in the GCPD when I randomly started tossing batarangs in corner cover. Weird stuff.

I'm sure someone has pointed this at, but the 'infamous locked room' is where the game starts after Bruce gets arrested - with him tied up on the chair. When you struggle in the chair and subsequently get sent outside, you're in the main processing centre, and you can look back to see that's where you came from. Just an interrogation/psychoanalysis room
No it's not, look back at it again you can go back to that room later in the game and you will see the destroyed TV where the tyger guard smashed Bruce's head in and the chair knocked over and the blood. The locked room is on the other side and is still locked
Ummm......I'm not sure you covered all the 'blue hell' areas because there was one more with riddler in it. I forgot how to get there but I'm positively sure you missed one.

Hey @BatmanArkhamVideos, there's another Blue Hell you can actually explore in the sewers using the Line Launcher, I use it in an Arkham City speedrun to skip the first scene where Batman collapses due to his poison. It's pretty easy to line up, but you can see it on a video I uploaded today at 51mins 33 secs
Man! There's just something so strange and mysterious about Arkham city and Gotham city that makes it so cool, and interesting that makes you want to find the history!
I'm listening to the credits for the main story and the music towards the end is fitting a lot better to this video then the music they are using.
I know how to a similar one during the clayface fight, when you freeze him the second time spam the strike button and the quick fire freeze blast at the same time REALLY fast
Idk why I'm watching old videos, but I'm enjoying it.
I did this yesterday from one of the balancing beams sticking out of wonder tower and guess what? I could actually land on 8 gargoyles (vantage points) in the amusement mill, and from there i could explore the blue hell with remote control baterangs! I used the remote control baterangs to find more tangible objects to land on and by doing this i discovered that many of the signs sticking out the sides of buildings were also tangible. in total i found 11 places batman could land in the blue hell aswell as several tangible walls!
i did it with freeze cluster grenades btw
Trick: In new game plus, use the freeze blast trick in the steel mill. Then, GLIDE into the managers office. The Mr.Hammer cutscene won't trigger and you can see Joker's medical equipment. You can also go to the Funhouse but there isn't much to do as it is empty. If you go back into the managers office, there will be the floating hammer if Mr. Hammer.
Wow did you help make this game are something cause you know every thing and why didn't you do the riddler room near the one riddle room in the district part of the map you can go in this box and open this door and then you can see these trap and you can see the riddle actually moving which is freaking creepy but yah
Every time you play this I imagine Batman playing. You're just so good at it that I'm just like only Batman could mater this game.

One way I found is during the mission when you need to see Joker again after defeating Freeze. You have to get one of Joker's snipers attention and use the water tower close to the wall. Then as you try to glide over the wall the sniper will shoot you and you'll fall down to a building. It was pretty badass. This is extremely hard though.

I found something like blue hell on batman arkham origins . You go to amusement mile you use that glue grenade on the water near the cage with the data pack in it. then jumped on to that ledge where that data pack is your face straight through and then once you start getting it try fast travel anywhere.
In the collapsed streets blue hell the little spot where you throw your remote control bat arang if instead of going strait down go strait and hang a left and you will find blue hell, but in the distance there's a fireball than you can go through.
Another way to get to the blue hell is while you are using the elevator to go back down from the top of wonder tower, stand on top of the elevator and try to use the line launcher to stay in place if you keep trying, the elevator will keep going down and open in the blue hell. Then you exit and fall until you die.
theres also one in the subaway station in the bowerey. go to the top of the staircase at the left, i think its been a while since i played. anyway, throw a remote contollled batarang down the left staircase and boom blue hell. the first time it happended to me i thought it was a glitch.
Anyone else think that the back room of the G.C.P.D building is a scarecrow reference. There are are bodybags used by him and detective mode cannot be used so the bodybags (which are blatantly occupied) are out in the open but detective mode doesn't pick up anyone inside. Like Hush's lair when you return after completing his side mission.
at 2:13, it wasnt the locked room. it was the main room of the arkham city processing center tht u go in to go to wonder city
I think I found one of these areas by chance one time - it's just the edge of the programmed area isn't it?
Interesting, but what I would find more useful is being able to get back to the top of the Wonder Tower post game and being allowed full access to all areas as Catwoman, ie GCPD, the Steel Mill and again, the Wonder Tower. Only purely so that a reccy can be done to make the Predator Challenges a little easier for knowing the areas better.

There's also a blue hell inside the top of Wonder Tower after you beat the game. Only problem is that once you get in that part, for some reason, you get stuck and it auto saves. Unlocked every riddle and beat every challenge in that profile and now I'm stuck in a blue abyss. lol
I think what people say that the locked room is where Hugo keeps his own batsuit is true,but rocksteady didnt know no one would find a way to see inside so they just kept it empty
I found a new blue hell at Riddler's hideout. Stand on a wooden box near the entarance, use line launcher tightrope towards the door of the hideout, and you can pass through the ceiling.
You could try going to the location of your save file, right click on it, properties, restore previous versions. Now all you do is pick a save game from a date in which in you weren't stuck there. You uploaded this comment five months ago so you should look for versions a bit older. If you screw up you can always try another version. Once you find the correct version copy paste it and replace it in the old save file location. Not sure if it'll work, for me it did on another game.
I used the "Freez Blast" inside the Steel Mill industry, not to getting to the blue hell actually, but only to skip the moment that batman wanted to face the joker for the first time when Abramovich kicks batman in his face.. I did it! and all thanks to you!!!

the batman animated series skin looks pretty good, most of them don't cause they don't change the body shape and style to match it making it just look weird like the Adam West and '70s Batman' skins
You can also get back up to wonder tower don’t restart from the auto save when the game saves because it will break the game and you will be glitched in a spot you can’t get out off(dm me if you want to know how)
Good video, but I found a sort of glitch where you climb to the top of wonder tower, go to the highest antenna and keep hitting the button for freeze blast until you can grapple up to the gargoyles and you can use detective mode to see no body's, but when Hugo Strange speaks you can see the marks above him.
At that point, drop down and walk in front of a Tyger guard, I triple dare you!!
They don't even shoot you!!
It's like you're not even there!!
But like most GLITCHES, there is always a downside to it .
For this one, it's that you can't use detective mode again : (

This is back in Arkham Knight. idk if anyone else has it this but I'm on free roam after beating the game and activating Knightfall Protocol. Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't gotten to this side misson.
Ok, now on the island with the statue, Blackfire is still there and Jack Ryder is chained up. When you look around, everything looks, well not right. Glide off into those places and welcome to blue hell
IK That happened to me too! I had just purchased the season pass and began playing the riddler side side mission and as I flew over to the statue island I had detective mode on to see where that fuckin car was and I look down to see 2 bodies one lying down and one standing up so I land and voila I see jack Ryder and deacon backfire I'm thinking to myself wait I completed this shit checked my mission list and everything so I took couple screens hots and left defused the bomb took out the hostage and turned around to see a big fucking space of what looked like messed up textures as I walk on it i fall under the map and then I flew around arkham city and asylum checking out the places before deciding to fall to my death weirdly enough if you keep dive bombing the screen gets really fucked up to where you see like hundreds of batmans dive bombing I had to stop before I got a fuckin seizure 😂😂
If you are in the blue hell outside the steel mill, go to the place, where the destroied funhouse was. if you go through the door, you are back in arkham city in the blue hell inside the steel mill. but when you go back through the same door, you come into the funhouse, when it wasn't destroied...

That may also explain that brown smoke floating around the ice cream van in low quality, that or pollution but I prefer to think of it as a special Scarecrow code.

at 2:44 many people believe when you download the catwoman story people believe that's Hugo's vault behind that door and it leads to save batman or leave arkham city (just a rumor no hate)

You will get an audio confirmation and when you continue your game, you will get the option to select your favorite skin.
I found it while looking for a Riddler trophy that's in one of those cages I use the repel gun to boost myself up into the sky and on accident I dive bomb into a pool of water that's in the middle of the map and it took me straight there
On my original 360 and on both arkham origins saves and my city save i was stuck endlessly falling in one and i was sad because both had nearly every riddler trophy
One thing is strange is blue hell looking up you see circles and who knows maybe someone may find something but I have spent time but nothing big
Hugo Strange is obsessed with the Batman. He discovered his identity all on his own, and aspires to take up his mantle as protector of Gotham City. He owns a replica batsuit, just like I own a cheap costume I wear every Halloween.

What I mean is perhaps that Batsuit in Strange's office and the suit worn by the Arkham Knight are one and the same. Secondly, why can't Strange take a trip to the Lazerus pit and become younger to fit the suit? There are always possibilities.

I accidentally did the gcpd one but thought it was intentional because i never actually went far with it and got down quick

Spam is just doing something repeatedly. Just hit 5 a lot on PC, or the right bumper/R2 on the controller.
i found another way to access the blue hell in the gcpd building!!!!!!!!! in the morgue room, where the blinking light is, throw a remote batarang below the sinks in the soft wall and there may be a way to see that bodybag in the secret room!!! omg im so excited!!!!!!!!

i like your imagination, but blue hell are just 3d models without (or not properly configured) collision settings, allowing some objects to pass through "walls" and into areas that were not supposed to be seen. However, gamers like us love to find blue hell like these for the fun of exploration =)
BatmanArkhamVideos, have you tried to found the ''Warden Secret Office'' of Arkham City ? I don't think the Scarecrow's boat is this Secret Room, it was found too soon.

in the deadshot side mission, just after i saved ryder, the game didn't load properly. i could grappel onto things that were not there, and eventually i began to fall, until i passed the demon sequences
That body in the extra morgue... I could see that being an easter egg if it wasn't impossible to get to.
I remember this one time my older brother was fighting Mr freeze in new game plus mode then batman fell through the ground

I found a new blue hell in the elevator in wonder tower it is soooo cool you can use remote control batarangs and glide i am not sure how i did it but let me know if you have seen it i would love to do it again i will keep trying and let you know
