That's what dog training is all about, teaching the owners how to teach their dogs 🐕. Once you know what to do, it's just putting in the practice with your dog. Alot of people also forget to keep the training short. I used to do "TV training" basically having short fun sessions with my dogs during TV commercials and my dogs loved it. Dogs only have short attention spans, so doing several short sessions during the day instead of one long keeps their attention on the task. Also, try and teach one or two things at a time and you'll find your dog will pick things up quite quickly. Then you move onto the next thing you want to teach them. The work you put into your training will pay off with a well behaved and happy dog.

One day early on, he stood in the lounge room and did the longest pee on the rug...he just didn't know! I have a 9 week old female German Shepard. She hasn’t been left alone for the 1 week we have had her. We left her alone for 15 minutes while we sat in our car down the road. She was howling and crying & trying to get out of her pen😢 I felt so terrible
It's amazing to see when the lightbulb kicks on in the owners heD and they realize they have to PLAY with their dog lol. Cats and dogs aren't just there to look at and sit on your lap.
It’s like what Victoria says to the owners: Jane is in remission (thank God) and has resumed her life, but Teddy hasn’t been able to transition. He fulfilled a need, but now that Jane doesn’t need Teddy the same way as she did when she was sick, he feels insecure. I wonder, though, if Teddy would’ve been accepting of another pet in the house that would’ve kept him company, or if he was so protective of his owners and space that he would’ve become very aggressive.
I didn't hear her say anything about exercise. A well exercised dog is too tired to do any of these shenanigans. Also crate training would help. The drop it and take it is a definite win, not just for the stealing but in case he gets into something he's not supposed to, the drop it command is paramount.
My parent’s dog has to be medicated if they are going to leave her. She can’t handle being alone without the help, she won’t even lay down all day without her medicine. Before my parents adopted her she had been taken back to the shelter because the owners said she was too much to deal with. She’s become my parent’s baby esp since they both just retired, she barely needs her meds because they take her everywhere. My baby girl cries when I leave, and it breaks my heart. I’m sick, so I’m home a lot unless I have doc appts. When I was in the hospital my friend watched her and my little boy, and she said that poor girl kept walking around looking for me before curling up at my friend’s feet. Like Victoria said, I wish we could explain to them that we are coming back, and they don’t have to be afraid.
It's so sad that people suffer so long because they have dogs but dont train those dogs! What i've seen It is usual to just "expect the best". So clueless!
It's obvious you've never had a dog with true anxiety. I have one now and work with him everyday, if you read up as I have, some dogs never get over it. I've had dogs and never one like this one. Easy to judge.
Hi Victoria great show. Thank you I have learned so much. Could you please tell me. When you train a dog not to bark at people coming to or walking by your house will your dog bark when he really needs to ? Like when someone breaks into your house will your dog sense something is wrong ?
What happens if I don’t have a partner? I live alone now and I can’t stay home all day. My daschsund will bark and howl for 45 minutes nonstop. How can I improve her anxiety without loosing my progress every time I leave the house??
I saw another comment that mentioned an album called “Through a Dog’s Ear”. I looked it up and it looks like the music is available through Spotify and TH-cam. Hope this helps!
I'm not sure if this is dramatized for video. It's possible the dog has separation anxiety, but they didn't really show it. Many dogs are just barkers. So, I hope other owners don't get confused by this.
That's the problem. They didn't. They showed a barking dog. Now everybody will think as you did that this is separation anxiety. Dog might have it but it wasn't reflected in the footage.
First problem is a poorly bred dog. Responsible breeders don't let their quality stock go to people who will intentionally mix them, so the vast majority of "designer breeds" come from poorly bred stock from backyard breeders. AFTER that, puppies need to learn to be alone. That means putting them in a room alone early and often for an hour or so to PREVENT these issues.
I know this is off topic, but I hope the lady has a healthy, happy, cancer free life ahead of her. I pray the cancer never comes back.

I love this show and have been watching for many years. I am loving the addition of the knowledge on bog breeds and their behaviours. 💕
6:55-“ I’ve left the house and I made this happen” -- NO.. It’s cuz u DIDNT LEAVE IT **** AT ALL **** Or Teach him to be ALONE since he was a puppy so he hasn’t learned how to be confident and he is a lot more aware now too as he gets older so he’s even More aware of beeing alone now than he was as a young pup’
There was a pandemic going on and she had _cancer._ If she went out , there would’ve been a _strong chance_ she would’ve left the dog _permanently._
Amazing techniques! Thank you. Great job, Victoria and the dog owners.
He's a really smart boy he sat down at first and waiting to get another treat thinking he was supposed to sit
Gonna try some of these tips for my two year old's bedtime.
He went to sleep! I started with checking on him every 2:00 minutes and quickly realized that was too long so eventually found his threshold at 15 seconds. After checking on him and re-tucking for about 20 minutes I put on some Bio-Acoustic music and fed his little sister her bottle. He was out like a light. Quickest bedtime in months!
I feel this! I have an 8 year old cat that I got as a kitten and he has huge separation anxiety. Most people look at me crosseyed when I tell them I need a cat sitter... He is who he is. The vet gave us a homeopathic medicine to help ease his over grooming and that has helped a lot. His fur is growing in again. The older he's gotten, the more obsessive he grooms... I also use feliway which is a natural calming hormone. And a vet food called calm with ingredients that help settle his nerves. I wish I could take away his anxiety....
Amazing episode, thank you for sharing

This is such a help. I adopted a dog almost 3 weeks ago and she struggles being alone. I'll be using these tips to help her out. She also eats my underwear for some reason.. any tips how I can stop her from raiding my laundry bin? She's a pomsky, 2 and a half years old, and an ex breeder from a puppy mill. She isn't used to living in a normal house yet as she comes out of a stable.
...Victoria starts teaching desensitization at abput 15mins
@@HumanimalChannel that works for her raiding the laundry and hiding with my undies when I can't see her? Awesome! Thank you!
@@alurafox666 just no more laundry basket on the ground! It's like having a toddler and making sure medicines are high up, and cleaning products are locked away :)
@@HumanimalChannel thank you! She's my first dog so I'm learning as we go.
@@alurafox666 she needs you to be calm, consistent, assertive.
To give her routine that she can trust (A walk first thing in the morning!) and to work on obedience daily, basics like sit ("good girl!") Stay, up down etc.
You're doing great, I'm sure!
Dogs KNOW when they've been rescued.
My dog... who was also my first, although my partner at the time had a dog and I'd gotten good at being stepmum, he hadn't lived in a house either. He was born at the rspca and wasn't adopted until over 2 years old. So he lived in cages all that time.
One day early on, he stood in the lounge room and did the longest pee on the rug...he just didn't know! He got VERY used to comfort :) beds, lots of Bush walking, it took about two months to properly work out the separation anxiety, but I persevered with the steps and we got there. You will too!
Poms are amazing, they're so smart, loyal, special, they're funny, and they're beautiful.
The Queen of Pups does it again =) Love Victoria so much! And Teddy is ADORABLE! I am glad they are all happy now I hope they keep at it! =D
YOUR POSTING ON MY BIRTHDAY!!
Happy early birthday
Hope you have a good birthday bro

Happy Monday Victoria have a great day working with dogs 🐶 paws 🐾 xoxo 😘
Such a adorable dog 💖💖💖💖
This dog is the cutest
Is there any info on how much the dog is walked, played with, put to work?
Their backyard is beautiful
Teddy you're too cute to behave this way😂
This is literally the taller version of my dog
Wow! What a difference.
I really love Jane and Mike, and of course Teddy
I didn't hear her say anything about exercise. A well exercised dog is too tired to do any of these shenanigans. Also crate training would help. The drop it and take it is a definite win, not just for the stealing but in case he gets into something he's not supposed to, the drop it command is paramount.
Victoria you are great. Thank you
My parent’s dog has to be medicated if they are going to leave her.
I would like to perch music like that .
Thanks Victoriaaaaa a, love ur videossssss , I could try in my studio bedroom apartment
Bet you this lady finds a remote position in the next two months. It’s criminal how terrible our return to work is for our furry friends and families
ITS A DOG!!! They don't have separation anxiety 😂😂
It's so sad that people suffer so long because they have dogs but dont train those dogs! What i've seen It is usual to just "expect the best". So clueless!
Nice people but clueless. They didn't Google anyrhing? They didn't think to work him? They didn't think to walk and train him ?
It's obvious you've never had a dog with true anxiety. I have one now and work with him everyday, if you read up as I have, some dogs never get over it. I've had dogs and never one like this one. Easy to judge.
I wish I could call Victoria to help me but I don’t wanna be on TV
Hey Victoria! I need some tips……. I’m getting a poodle puppy soon and I know poodles are so intelligent so I don’t want to mess her up.
Any tips….
Upstate Canine Academy on TH-cam
what a nice couple
Wee dog was useful and you suggest rehoming when inconvenient
Have you considered using a leash?
He’s bored out of his gourd. humans need to educate themselves because it’s not the dog it’s the owner.
Hi Victoria great show. Thank you I have learned so much. Could you please tell me. When you train a dog not to bark at people coming to or walking by your house will your dog bark when he really needs to ? Like when someone breaks into your house will your dog sense something is wrong ?
A cavapuchon. Are you kidding me. No wonder.
YAY SO EXCITED!! 😀💛
What happens if I don’t have a partner? I live alone now and I can’t stay home all day. My daschsund will bark and howl for 45 minutes nonstop. How can I improve her anxiety without loosing my progress every time I leave the house??
You gotta teach a dog what "no" and "stop" means or they're not going to obey. They can't.
The backyard in this episode looks like something from a simulation.... 🤔
I had a puppy she travels everywhere with me will this work with Furbo
Yes you can tell Teddy that they'll be back!!!!
Does anyone have a link to a TH-cam playlist with bioacoustics like the one in this episode? The ones I’m finding are not quite the same
I saw another comment that mentioned an album called “Through a Dog’s Ear”. I looked it up and it looks like the music is available through Spotify and TH-cam. Hope this helps!
17:35 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
what's the music she (VIctoria) uses?
What’s the instrumental?
She gets a pass because she had cancer, but I will never understand people who don’t train their puppy and then wonder why they’re terribly behaved
Love you too much
I'm not sure if this is dramatized for video. It's possible the dog has separation anxiety, but they didn't really show it. Many dogs are just barkers. So, I hope other owners don't get confused by this.
They showed it
That's the problem.
That means putting them in a room alone early and often for an hour or so to PREVENT these issues.
whats wrong with mixed dogs?
What about getting him a companion dog , cat or whatever. A friend to play and cuddle with when parents are out!
This is not separation anxiety.
Agree. Seems like boredom and lack of exercise.
You weren’t there, haven’t met the dog, haven’t seen the videos they recorded of him, but you know better? Lol
Victoria you Rock!😅 Whenever I left the house, I played the classics music station for my fur babies, and always came back to a calm home!
Hi. Same with me. Then, one day, I noticed my cat was really fond of Vivaldi...
Hm. I will try the recording. When I play the piano my puppy barks
Hi
