Why use 4 motors instead of 2?
I don't think you need the extra power, and if only one of those motors gets out of sync, both motors on that line might burn out.
You need some type of prongs on the bottom of the cutters so the paper doesn't curl around the blades. Do it on both top and bottom.

I like this (although I have a "commercial home-office paper shredder which cost me about 30 USD or so). Thumbs up.
I don't know from where you have the metal sheet squares but is it possible to use tin lids?

That has to be the most expensive paper shredder ever, and it not even fast or efficient, At work we have one it's made the same way with the blades but one motor, and a cheap shaded-pole motor at that, but it fast and doesn't tangle the paper because it has guides for that, and it's old too 1989 I think I saw on the name plate. But still a good project, and it works. so good job.

Okay, wanna explain to me how it is that two presumably identical motors facing the same direction and connected in the same polarity are counter-rotating?
Michael Balls the polarity is reversed on two of the motors when the wires are soldered to them
Hmm. Okay, the video didn't show the leads being soldered to the motors, so I assumed that they came pre-wired. The link shows otherwise. That makes more sense now.

Nice idea but the gap between the blades is too large and Oliver MJ made the excellent point of saying you need teeth under the cutters. This is good for any documents that don't have PII.
