I don’t know why, but I’m so focused on the fact that Cinderella has glasses. I’ve never seen someone on a professional stage wearing non-character related glasses. Reminds me of before I got contacts and was always the only kid on stage with glasses and I felt so awkward.
Some have suggested over the years that it might be a significant note on when she's seeing clearly versus not, especially how she takes them off upon her engagement to the prince. I don't know how much stock I put in that, but it's an interesting theory.

Here, it is clear that it is a satire of the old folk tales, in the movie I didn't know what the fuck was happening, neither did the rest of the audience. In my country this play is not well known, that's why everyone was so confused with the movie. Disney really did screw up this.
