- Gatorade built this technology from scratch just for an ad. 2,500 switches turn the water on and off, and motion capture tells it what to do. The results are incredible.

Water Droplets Create Amazing Human-Like Animations In This Gatorade Ad
I think people take things like this for granted. This is incredibly hard to pull off as an Engineer, Designer, Filmmaker, or Coder.
Yes, people only see the big company financing it but never think about the hard work of many smart individuals who managed to put this together.
Its the same with Elon Musk, he has the ideas and money but the scientists and engineers actually executing his concepts are never thought about and he earns all the credit
@@protonruffy12 like I am a Game Designer and I respect this film, I see how much work and coding went into this project for a commercial
@@jaridkeen123 plus, they made it with pictures. Thats extremely hard and long.
for what purpose?
Its fake.
Gatorade: Spends a ton of money and pulls off a difficult technology to make for a ad
99% of us: *instantly skips ads*
The thing is they didnt pull of any new technology really. Thats where this video lies. They just combined two. One that does these droplet images and second... your plain old camera with a timer. Then they just took the pictures and assembled them into animation. So I doubt they spent that much money. This is actually one of those things thats cheap and looks impressive.
lol
@@martinbudinsky8912 they probably did spend a lot of money for the system that uses 3d model of that motion capture suit and puts it into water form. you don't know how long it is to write a program half as good as that
@@caminstol2473 It depends. I honestly doubt they made such software themselves. There are many softwares that work with motion capture to render it into pictures. Then its just a question of transfering it into the dropplets. And I have seen software that in matter of seconds transforms anything you write or draw into 2D image out of dropplets at IQlandia in Liberec. And if those already existing softwares could be interlinked and tweaked a bit then its not an expensive or difficult venture at all. After all 3D image is just layers of 2D images next to each other. Theres this saying.
"Work smart, not hard."
They did spend money not alot though what they really spent is their time that things is so good that the time needs to kill you lol
damn I don't even do energy drinks I feel like I should get at least one or two just to support the creativity and scientific effort in this amazingly designed ad.

nothing wrong with that, the people involved with this deserve our eyes for 30 seconds or however long the ad is imo. I'm still not going to buy any Gatorade though lol
When the ad is good.. sometimes you want to search for something to help in your life and you don’t know what the product is.. you’d go to the ends of the earth to find that product. Ads just bring them closer to our attention all that we need, we just need to choose. Sometimes I wonder if we should pay for an ad.. as silly as it sound still some people need a product so badly.. if someone never knew the hearing aid exist and there were never an ad and no one tells him about it while he’s deaf. That product is life changing along with some technologies for graphic designers let say and the app that just makes your life easier. Surely these products aren’t perfect but they’re the best of human innovation there is.. the closer to the perfection everyone doesn’t seem to realize but wanted.

1000s of billion $ companies should go there and donate like 50 million each and set up water pumps. Clean water is a need. People complain about their phone lagging in the west yet these people walk hours with heavy buckets for dirty water.
@@mohommadhabibi4616 I'd prefer if they actually installed the stuff themselves because if they just donate it's the last they'll ever hear of that money. Many a times we see bog donations and the politicians becoming magicians and making the money disappear 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@shimeih2287 I would partially agree partially disagree. Donations can serve to damages communities and countries have to be smart about what/how they donate. Probably the best way we can help poor countries is by helping them to develop education and infrastructure as well as helping them to fight corruption. Lack of clean water is a symptom of poverty and ideally, we should target poverty itself. So I agree with you in part. However, you also seem to imply that poor countries can just work their way out of poverty. I disagree. Current socio-economic conditions make it very difficult for certain countries to just work their way out of poverty. We will need some form of government action. Unlike Habibi though, I don't think we should put that burden on companies and instead should work through taxes and government involvement.
