  • This five-minute film was created to honor the life and work of Judi Chamberlin, one of the founders of the international consumer/survivor movement, who passed away in January 2010. The National Coalition is building support for a longer documentary project to showcase the history of our movement for civil rights and community life for people with psychiatric disabilities.ncmhr.org/
Judi's book, On Our Own, is available at power2u.org/st...
    or from Amazon

In 73-74 Judi lived at a shared home in Vancouver with myself and five others. Getting to know her I recognized immediately her passionate commitment and work to dispel : "The Myth of Mental Illness." And (with me being a musician) her love of "Blue Oyster Cult" + "Emerson, Lake & Palmer." (We went to an E.L.P concert at Vancouver's Pacific Colisseum.) It was only yesterday that I discovered (sadly) that she left us in 2010. R.I.P. "Ms. Forthright."
