The song is based on a real life story of a puma that escaped the zoo and experiences freedom for the first time. Instead of bringing it to safety it was shot to death. The entire choreography is them representing the puma. The catlike movements, climbing on top of a cliff and breaking out of a cages. It’s not meant to be sexual since the members have expressed discomfort with being sexualized as two of them are still minors.
@bobatae pretty sure its both. The metaphor of them breaking out into the entertainment industry as a new group and having people hating on them and "hunting" them. Its a double meaning..not just a metaphor.

Thank you so much for the reaction! And you're right it's more of a story than a song. It's based on a real life story in south korea. A puma escaped from the zoo and it only experienced 4 hours of freedom. Instead of capturing it they shot it despite it not harming anyone. It would definitely make more sense if the captions were turned on ( it has subs btw). Lyrics could also relate to ( what they thought about) how they were viewed and judged pre debut and debut era.

I can definitely understand how you guys can’t really see TXT as these grown ‘pumas’ haha! Especially since the last song you checked out was Cat & Dog! This video and song was a shock to me when I first saw it. I recommend you guys check out the lyric translation because it’s actually really powerful. The song is actually from the perspective of a puma who escaped a zoo in South Korea (please correct me if I’m wrong!). So the song has really powerful themes of fear, predator + prey, freedom, and running from danger. Personally the lyrics actually made me emotional because the message and vibe was almost parallel with the BLM movement. I also agree with Dizz with the fact that this song is more of a story than a song. This video and song is a whole experience! I also want to say that I really appreciate all the hard work you guys put into this channel and reaction series. Please don’t feel pressured to overwork yourselves! Thank you❤️☺️

Anyways, thanks for this! As always, it's interesting to see your perspective on things. In this case, I totally agree in the sense the flow of this song is very off putting on first listen, despite the parts sounding nice on their own.

This bside of them is DEFINITELY more of a story bc there is a super interesting back-story to this song. Many commented about it and even did videos that explain the story behind it so I will keep it short. They use a strong metaphor to detail their journey by paralleling their struggles as singers with that of a puma that escaped a zoo in South Korea and was eventually shot dead. So the metaphor conveys the idea of breaking free. Also, the case of this escape sparked a massive debate about animal abuse in Korea. Definitely a reason why I think their choice of metaphor is even more interesting cuz it's meaningful :)
I hope you'll try to dive more into TXT's music in future. To me, this group's the most fascinating one in recent times :)

Yes, there is a story behind the song, I don't know it very well but it is about a true story of a puma that escaped in Korea and was forbidden his freedom so txt makes a metaphor with that.

Dizz made a really good, interesting point and yeah, Puma is kinda more of a story and metaphor. The lack of structure and chorus is experimental and what makes this a B-side song. You should check out TXT's title tracks like "Can't You See Me?" and "Run Away" since your last TXT reaction was Cat & Dog from their debut era over a year ago. There's a lot of missed TXT content to catch up! They have their debut album, two comeback albums, a Japanese debut and comeback so far, plus a hidden track = 20 songs. Their storyline & concept is evolving gradually.

I’m so happy y’all reacted to this. A lot of people were saying that since this video came out around the time the black lives matter movement was starting up it had a harder impact, and if y’all look up the lyrics it’s kinda crazy how the song correlates with what what was going on, especially Yeonjun’s rap verse.

dizz, i loved your little analysis, you were right in that there's a story behind the song- it's about a puma that escaped a zoo in korea, and was unfortunately shot to death before it could fully experience freedom, this led to protests in korea. this song came out in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement, so the song and lyrics took on a different meaning for a lot of people. even if the song wasn't originally about the blm movement, it's beautiful that people feel empowered by it in that way.
TXT doesn’t really have a set style. They are just a very versatile group and I think that it would have been better to react to their previous work before getting into any of the songs from Eternity because Eternity is the most grown style they have done so far, with Magic being semi grown and semi young, and Star being the cutest and youngest style they had because of their age. So, you kinda jumped all the way to their grown concept, skipping the start of their mature style from Magic. I understand fans want you to react to videos regardless of the time of release or order, but I want MOAs to realize that TXT is not a group that releases music without backup story or without following a plot line. If you guys wanna understand TXT’s style as a group, I would recommend to react to them in order.
Puma is just a B-side so it wasn’t going to be as well promoted or made as Can’t You See Me or like an actual title track but it does have its own story where the message is part of the plot line that is connected to TXT’s previous work.
I seriously felt you on the structure of the song. For me after a couple of listens it really grew on me.

You guys haven’t watched TXT to see their growth, so the last stuff you saw from them was their debut stuff...it’s quite a leap. They’ve grown up so much! The story behind the song is sad. Puma escaped from the Korean zoo because of the zookeeper leaving the cage open. The South Korean public followed on the news and online all day and hoped it would be captured safely. At dark, the wildlife people decided to stop trying to capture it, and killed it. They lied though and told the public it was captured safely. Once they were found out there was public outcry. The song is about the puma experiencing freedom for a short time, getting out and being confused by everything, seeing the moon and nature, then it is chased and it sees its own blood for the first time, still running. Until it dies, but it is happy for short freedom. Some people have seen this song as a parallel for the BLM movement. Neon Yellow Licorice is Yeonjun. Can’t You See Me was before this song, and it bridges the gap a little between older and younger. You wanna see another darker group, I LOVE Victon. The rapper Hanse has such a different voice. They are all talented.

been waiting for a txt reaction for like a year, worth it though. you missed 2 comebacks between crown and this so maybe that’s why this comes off as a shock. Also this one’s a b-side but their title tracks are always really catchy.

Well it’s a little weird when you don’t follow their musical journey. This is a Bside song which are typically more experimental. Which is what this was. Can’t you see me is the title track.
Maybe it's bcoz you are getting recommendations for these songs but both cat and dog and puma are both b-sides. They are made like b-side songs in the album and you develop to that after listening to the title tracks. I'll suggest when you react to any group first go for the title tracks bcoz they are made to be marketed to new audiences.
