I think I would've become a heavy equipment operator had the opportunity presented itself. When I was younger, I could watch heavy equipment for hours. I recently purchased an older Cat and after I service it and make some adjustments, I'll have it transported to an outdoor show where I can practice the art of moving dirt. Thanks for posting this fascinating video.

I grew up on heavy equipment mainly dozers, I’ve loved them since I had all the same toys as the real thing👍, I’m a dozer/excavator operator now in the union, I’m 40 I been doing it a long time, but it still puts a smile on my face when a kid or grown up comes up to me and asks for a ride or questions about how it all works, glad to hear you got you a old kitty kitty💪👍👍 hope it all works out for you!!! Just be careful a go slow 👌

Daddy had a d7. I used to go to work with him and watch him run it all day. I loved it.

No computer chips, No ECM's, No warning lights bells or whistles, No joysticks, No tampon dispenser, No pollution control BS, just a simple bulldozer! And is probably still running today.

Thank modern feminism for making the workforce for wimps just so they can have a chance to compete in the workforce with men.

Dang, I was really hoping to hear that distinctive pop pop pop pop of that old cat engine. Then again, I can always drive home and hear it any time I want. My Dad's old 7's are still running.

I learned on an old 62 D-5. It sucked not having a cab.

Love the truck pulling the trailer....remember, WWll has just ended . Building was just starting to boom here at home. Cat was getting ready to see sales switch from Government contracts to lucrative private demand. Huge growth for Cat all over the world.

I can't tell if this is a promotional video or a PSA on how not to work in open canopy bulldozers. I seriously feared for these actors lives at times 😅
