I'm having some trouble in the Output Bar visualizing the results of a SC simulation i've performed. I've simulated a IEC 60909 Fault Calculation and i've chosen "Fault current summary table" as Output option. I set the rest of the options, click Go and everything goes "well", except for the fact that some of the results -- IM(I+) or IM(3I0), for instance -- are showned as "*********" instead of a 4-precision decimal number. How can i visualize all of the results as numbers and not having "*********" in any row or column again? Great video, by the way!
may I ask what I should input for example I wanna a 3-ph fault on a generator Bus only? for that bus, should I double click the generator property and leave 0 fo R 1 for X in SC tab? in the video at 1:11 you opened that tab.
Enter the values in Short Circuit tab of generator. The values to be entered are given at 1:16. The rest of steps remain the same except that only select the genrator bus at 4:28.
@@PowerSystemSimulation Thank you for the reply, My simulation result will be compared with the same simulation in Matlab, Matlab result shows the 3-ph fault bus has a 0 voltage, in PSSE 3:57 it does not allow us to set a 0 value(has to be >0.5); Or, the 0 V bus is what I will "get" not "set" ? do you know if it is possible to perform? (PS: I'm using a free version of PSSE since there is none for education) much appreciate.
I am analyzing different faults in my system, but idont know how model distance relay or overcurrent relay in PSS/e for know wath impedances or currents the relays saw, , thanks for you intersting tutorials
How to model renewable power systems like solar, wind and BESS in PSSE, like there is an option in the generator sources to specify them as a renewable energy source in the control mode, but what does those terms actually mean?
Also what was the point of making the fault arrangements for IEC 909, can`t you just calculate the short circuit current directly without doing that step?
I have problems when I try to run short-circuit calculations, an error about Visual Fortran is shown, along many files or modules showing problems. I'm not sure if this is a problem related with Windows 10 installation, since I see you are using Windows 7. Does anyone know how can I solve this? Thanks.
@@PowerSystemSimulation Intel Visual Fortran Compiler is not free, and it is difficult to find an accessible version. Maybe do you have version 34? I tried to request to download the Trial version from Siemens but I haven't had an answer yet.

Good Video tutorials, can you make your next video on how to perform dynamic studies in PSSE?
Yes, we will make tutorials on all topic of PSS/E. Dynamic Simuation tutorial wil be uploaded shortly.
how to calculate short-circuit values for generators, transformers and branches which we input in their case data? can't find it anywhere.
That is provided by the manufacturer.

Is there any way to convert PESS drawing (*sld) to AUTOCAD (dxf) ? In python or in any other way. Can you help me
No, there is no such way available at the moment. U can create pdf & jpeg of SLD only.
Also what was the point of making the fault arrangements for IEC 909, can`t you just calculate the short circuit current directly without doing that step?
We use that option to calculate the short circuit current using the guidelines presented in IEC 60909.
@@PowerSystemSimulation I thought so too, but IEC 909 is not the same as IEC 60909 can you please kindly verify this?
@@blueberet7272 The IEC 909 standard was only applied to systems with nominal voltages up to 230 kV. PSS/E uses IEC 60909 while calculating SC.

Can you show me the Ybus matrix in PSSE?
You may email at psscommunications1@gmail.com for detailed support.
Videos are great. You might consider getting rid of the gawd awful distracting music and put more narrative voice.

how the unit short-circuit current is ampere, not PU. you can hepl me
@2:07 we have changed the short circuit current output from PU to physical (ampere). You can change setting from there.

Try installing Intel Visual Fortran Compiler. If problem still persists, use another version of PSSE like version 32 or 34.

You can reduce the volume by using Up/Down arrow on the seek bar :)
