For me, I will ALSO never look at a homeless PERSON in the same way again. Before reading James's books, I had been spontaneously giving away homemade peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and juice I kept with me when out and about to a homeless person. Also I had given money enough to help that person get to a shelter or get a small meal. NOW, THANKS TO JAMES'S HAVING MADE ME MORE AWARE OF THE HUMAN SIDE, I definitely feel more comfortable talking directly to a person, giving the help that I can, searching out answers, and locating additional help if needed. James Bowen gave homelessness a face in that he reminded me we're all in the same " Family of Man" (a book I read in my freshman year. Sidenote: I do give to the ASPCA.).

Me too I am a 41 year old man and I rarely cry but I have been in tears to hear bob the cat is dead. I wonder how he got hit by a cat it’s such a tragedy for a lovely cat. Being street savvy all his life I find it bizarre as he was used to roads, unless a car was speeding fast and bob mistimed the crossing. Anyways I hope James feels better he has probably been over it a 1000 times in his mind

Bob, a cat sent from heaven to save lives crossed the Rainbow Bridge and returned home. Bob brought out compassion and sacrifice and love for another. It always stays with me that James spent his meager earnings to make sure Bob was fed. Some of us don't have families and we say we're here for our cats but I believe it's the other way, our cats hold on for us. Bob chose James because James needed purpose for a different path. R.I.P.
