That`s a great presentation. Very concise and well presented. I`ve been playing for 4 years now and i found my fav sticks, the Meinl SD1, i wanted a stick to be as thick as possible but not heavy and these are from maple, so they`re light, and have a long taper which i also like for rebound. The tip is round which i like for ping on the cymbals. It`s a bit weird because it`s like i designed them. I hope they won`t stop making them.

Great video. I've just started to learn drums at the ripe old age of 53 and gone for Vic Firth NOVA 5A with wood tip. Still early days but really like the feel and I'm improving each time I play.

Hi Bob! it's never too late to start! Good luck with your journey playing the coolest instrument known to man! 5a is a great place to start!

Great video! Well explained. Promark 5a Rebounds are my go to stick along with the Vic firth 5a grip stick. I have 100s of sticks between 7a and 5a. Vater 7a Manhattan have great feel but those little round tips just dont last long and the sticks basically shot then. I have never broken a VF stick ,just widdle down to a toothpick and same with Promark. For Maple the Jason Bonham Maples are solid sticks and definitely last longer than some hickory sticks I have played with. I want to use the Promark la specials but wow they have a short life span. Seems like every stick splits right underneath the nylon tip. I've been a professional drummer for 30 plus years and the most reliable stick is the Neil Peart 747s oak. I have a few pairs but I rely more on hickory. Much better feel in my opinion. You're definitely a solid drummer! Keep on rockin

Drumsticks are the most important thing to have for drummers... the weight, length, the taper and of course the tip will correspond different in feel, sound, and durability (this video lesson says it all, love it so much 🤘)
My stick of choice is the Vic Firth Rock model. The old good 2B diameter with the "extreme" length (16.63"), a short taper and a beefy oval tip for a full, deep and project sound.

We agree! Thanks for the kind words too. If you're playing heavy, you can never go far wrong with a 2B inspired stick - it makes sure you're heard!

Personally, I love the Promark Rebound 5B Long. It’s that right balance between power and rebound.

Very nice and useful video! I know that recently G4M has begun listing Techra drumsticks. I just wanted to let you know that they represent a disrupting proposal. Particularly the Black Diamond model, recently issued, guarantees an outstanding durability (more than ten times than hickory) and a very high comfort. Furthermore they come from renewable sources! We will be very pleased if you would like to test them like you did in this great video. ;-)
