as it's already been said, this song IS so very raw, she pours her heart, and the pain that's in it wide open for all to see. in my mind;a very brave thing to do. i've been a fan forever, and i loved (still do) the c.d. breakdown, but damn, is she hurting. i love the comment made by jean dawson, something to the effect of,"and it makes me wanna reach out and slap the hell out of the bitch, who caused the pain" i think we all know who that was. way back "in the day" i truly believed she and julie would be together forever...clearly, so did melissa.
Anne Mooney, Yeah. I remember, too. After everything they went through, together,...having Bailey Jean, and the little brother, “I cannot recall his name! Dammit!”. And JC (not Jesus) just walked away from her! And, I’m losing some of the details, dam. But, I do remember how their breakup effected me. I was angry af. I kept telling Melissa, in my head, that I would never have done anything like that to her, ever. Especially if I had been in Js place, instead of J. At the time, I was so much in love 😍 with Melissa, I just KNEW I could be a better relationship choice than Julie ever could. I’m still extremely crushed out intensely, on Melissa. Unrequited Crushed out. Around that period in the Future from it, I realized that ME was sooo totally out of my League, out of even my reach, that I had to accept that knowing and loving ME, in person, wasn’t EVER gonna happen. Not in this lifetime, anyway. Sad 😞. I have Breakdown, the cd. I watched and listened to it on my then, brand new PC. I wanted to see the “enhanced” part of it. Both were okay. I was never enthused w/that album. IDK Y. I could tell that she was hurting so bad,... I didn’t want to see or hear her in such horrific pain. I thought, then, that maybe I wouldn’t’ve made such a great Life Partner, after all. Do you happen to recall what year Breakdown was released? I’m remembering, but having trouble placing the memory in a timeframe. I know when it was that I got “Skin”,...after my breakup from my 1st LTR, and before my next LTR. That whole cd, “Skin”, plus every one of the rest of her cds that I had then, so far, even “Breakdown”, saved my fricken life. I waited for about a year, to be by myself and to grieve my Loss, before I even tried to meet someone new. If it hadn’t been for Melissa and Melissa’s music, particularly, “Skin”, I wouldn’t have made it through that time. So, if Melissa ever sees this,... I still love 💕 you, Melissa!
