      He made some shitty plays and was definitely a noob but stall does play kind of predictably. He lost because he let his blissey and clef get chipped too hard. He should have realized that lele was clearly specs, always pivot in corv against it, if it goes for psychic or moonblast go bliss if it goes psyshock stay in. He's just a noob simply put. The guy who posted this also made a mistake or 2 tho. Mainly when he let his lele take a hit from hippo. • @PetersLabAviation
      @PetersLabAviation 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@KingDugan It's kind of expected though: I once brought the same stall team to two different g7 OU battles, and the first battle lasted not even 30 turns due to strong stallbreakers. The second one was 500 turns long. It depends on how the opponent plays, I guess.

    • @Skeloperch
      @Skeloperch 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      The problem is that stall is far more forgiving for mistakes. In a HO against HO game, one bad prediction loses you the game. Stall players have to get outpredicted several times, and the Pokemon that can rip a hole through stall are generally deadweight against other archetypes. The real bad apple is Toxapex. Without Pex, stall is a lot less safe since the pool of Pokemon that can bust through Pex in even just 2 moves is very limited.

    • @moebro101
      @moebro101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Skeloperch this is the only logical thing I've seen regarding this discussion. I genuinely feel that people claiming stall is not bad only say so because they play stall and want to feel better about themselves. They never mention any good counters. If you are not able to predict correctly for several turns in a row, then you've just lost to the stall team. I think that's unbalanced. There's a reason why stall wins more often than hyper offense, most "balanced" teams heavily rely on their walls.

  • @spartandumpster1158

    The thing I hate the most about competitive Pokemon these days has to be the constant switching. It's especially bad due to Pursuit not being around anymore, and Heavy Duty Boots, both of these make it so very often there's nothing to make your opponent hesitant about switching out. My complaint is more with not having access to pursuit, cause plenty of Pokemon have such a huge Stealth Rock weakness that HDB are a god send for them. I just want to have some way to chip away at anybody who relies too much on switching Pokemon.

    • @Blackvolttage
      @Blackvolttage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Pursuit is a huge loss for competitive singles, but "these days"? I played competitive since gen4 and i never recall a time when you dont switch in competitive battles. And i played gen1 on shoddy quite a lot too... if anything, people need to switch less now than then (due to knock off and other viable utility moves).

    • @spartandumpster1158
      @spartandumpster1158 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@Blackvolttage I don't mean NEVER switching, but I've had plenty of games where someone switches nearly every turn. Like my lead is good against my opponents, they switch out something that threatens mine so I have to switch, then they switch, and it's just this domino effect of nonstop switching. And there isn't much I can do even if I predict a switch cause then they just switch again without using a move. At least with Pursuit I can punish this more by getting more chip damage.
      Honestly this is why I've often ran Substitute on Blissey, cause obviously I'd switch it in against a special attacker, and they'll switch to a physical attacker, but with the sub up I can cripple them with toxic or thunder wave and that Pokemon will no longer be such a reliable switch into my other Pokemon.

    I don't know what to say... losing is PART of winning and it shows that this guy has not only never lost a game, but he does NOT accept losing, because he is so badly used to winning and getting away with it that, when he first found someone who not only knows how to play, but knows how to predict their movements precisely because they ARE predictable (I realized that a Stall, unless it is a Fake Stall, have repetitive movements), he did not accept it, showing his inflated ego and to top it off , who is a sore loser who demands and demands that the other rival DOES NOT do or DO what he wants so that his house of cards, sand and salt does not fall apart, because he knows but does not accept that there is someone who can stand up to him and win.

      the best way to beat blissey was to spike stack but now blissey got a massive buff in teleport and the reason why chansey is uu is it is still restricted to eviolite to maintain its bulk so with knock spam it's basically useless meaning blissey with boots and teleport is a menace. And loosing boots does hurt but doesn't to the extent of loosing eviolite. More reasons exist but these are probably imo the main ones.

      @@intellygent-alienking5651 your basic game plan with blissey is to switch into a special attacker, take very little damage and teleport out next turn. So the 12-24% of damage that you dont take is more valuable than the 6% that leftovers heal. Blissey as a special defensive mon just cant make use of many other items, so heavy duty boots is the best option in most cases.

      Ever wondered why blissey is OU and chansey is UU despite chansey being bulkier with eviolite? Well the prevelance of knock off but also heavy duty boots being immensely useful for a mon thats switching in a lot.

    Have you tried the strat I gave you ground type, prankster, leftovers, ion deluge, electrify, protect, substitute. Now I realise it is very stall based and requires them to forfeit.

      I dont think ion deluge is necessary with electrify
      Replace it with toxic or something else instead

    It’s good to see a stall user act this way
