Absolute proof that something does not have to be complex to sound epic or stellar! I find 95% of the time the most simple things on guitar sound the best!
Thanks Max! Agreed - and this one has always been one of my favorites...maybe the lyrics might be a little "cheezey," but the song really is kind of a melodic masterpiece. Thanks for watching!
Came off of a 30 day training mission, in the Army, when that master piece came out. A friend and I went out and snagged it, and drank a few beers while listening to it. We broke the rules as there was no drinking in our outfit on base. What they don't know won't hurt em. lol
Nice!!! Can't wait for the next chapter of the quest. Simple Rhyme is so underrated and Fools is one of my all time favs. btw, I hope you eventually do Diver Down. That album doesn't get as much love as the others, but there's some killer songs on it...Little Guitars!! Full Bug!! Hang Em High!! Secrets!!
Good eyes! It's a '77-ish Greco - the set neck, jimmy page model. I like it better than a couple of the Gibson 1275s that I've played. It's a great instrument!
@@jegauss You don’t have to convince me! I am the guy you talked with that has the huge Ibanez /Greco collection You need to add that greco LP custom! to your collection!!!
Thanks A.R. Yes, I'm trying to wrap up the Women and Children First Brown Sound Quest Video...trust me, I'm close - life keeps getting in the way - I don't have much more to do on it.
@@jegauss I know what you mean by work/ life balance. I had replied to you months ago about a guitar build I was doing. Your content and suggestions have been an influence on it. I had an ash body, OFR, a Duncan Frankenstein pickup, and a maple neck. This guitar sounds amazing. I was going for the average tone of the Roth era albums, and this guitar nails it IMO. I need the guitar to play a variety of music. Not just the first album. I was amazed at the amount of sustain it has for having a Floyd Rose. It doesn't sound a bit thin either. It's good to hear that you will be producing more content.
Thanks! No, I don't have the "whole song," but I'm playing more of it, and detailing the recording technique and rig setup in the next Brown Sound Quest video - Women and Children First - I'm way behind schedule on where I wanted to be with that video, but I'm finally getting very close to completing - actually hoping for a Sunday evening upload (this weekend)

The tone on Fools is like everything is melting. One of my fave VH tones
A beautiful intro. I was always impressed with how melodic Eddie could get in between VH's raucous power rock. Well done, Jim.

SPOT ON!!! excellent job !So glad to hear you are going to be doing a WACF tone dive.
Friggin love the tone Ed got on that record!
Thank you! Me too! Always loved the attitude and tone on that album!
My favorite song. The WB demo version has my favorite Ed solo. Great job!
First Van Halen album I got was WACF. Cannot wait for your analysis on this. Amazing as always 🙏
Thanks Dave!

Beautiful James!
Thank you, Doug!
perfect!
Thank you!
Quite possibly my favorite Van Halen song! Plus growth or whatever they named the little bit on the album fade out…. 🔥🤘🏼
It’s slowly becoming one of my favorites as well, and it’s the only VH song that actually made me emotional lol
@@c.a.k.comedy692 Emotional, wow!! It’s a serious love song!
nice axe, Bro.
Thank you.
That’s awesome Jim
Thanks Paul!
Any chance you can get a hold of a Kemper and profile your VH tones?
I’m sure they would sell.. I would definitely buy.
I already tried to plant that seed. fingers crossed. - Quad Cortex ;)
sounds great dude
Thank you!
Nice job wish I knew the chords,,,sounds great,,looks easy??? Tim from Pittsburgh likes this video
Thanks again, Tim! It is, actually, pretty easy...you can figure it out!

Nice Ibanez or is it a Greco? Looks like 76 Ibanez truss rod covers to me!

Nice! I haven't heard that song in ages. Any plans for producing full length video in the near future?
