    I wish the North Gym adjustable kb had handle dimensions closer to the Bells of Steel adjustable. I have the Mark Wildman edition of the Bells of Steel adjustable kettlebell & I'm as pleased as punch with it. Wish I had two. Next on my list are the Pro-kettlebells. Adjustable competition kettlebells are definitely the way to go. Kettlebell Kings, Bells of Steel, SoCal, etc they are all basically the same so whichever is on sale is best. I had to downsize after a move, and went from around 7 kettlebells to 2 adjustables. It’s a great choice, and I’ve only bought kettlebells that are higher weight than the adjustables after that.

    • @NoFate247
      @NoFate247  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great stuff. Picked up a couple kettlebell kings kbs this past black friday. I'll probably slowly expand my collection of kettlebell kings competition bells over time. The most important thing with competition bells is the window size. Don't buy those Titan Fitness bells, their new models are just straight up bad and the window size is way too large. Their previous models were actually pretty good, so I'm not sure why they changed them. Can't go wrong Kettlebell Kings, Bells of Steel, or any bells that look similarly.

    wall of text incoming:
    i was an early adopter of KB's (2010 ish) and at that time it was really only what is now called hardstyle (what you call cast iron). I got a set from 8k to 24k (BTW kettlebells are rated in kilograms. this whole kb's in pounds thing is like something that never happened, like Godfather 3). from some company called Simpson fitness (I doubt they even exist anymore) but pretty typical hardstyle cast iron bell. I filled in with 28, 32, 36 bells from Kettlebell Kings. (which used to be a lot more affordable) and then some 40, 44, 48, 56k bells from Rogue (one of their black friday sales, poor UPS guy). I've also filled in the last year or so with 2k gaps (so 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k) from Rep. So that gives me 8k to 48k by 4k increments and 8k to 24k by 2k increments, it's a lot of bells, do the math and you'll be appalled. (and don't tell my wife)
    By far the best bells are the Kettlebell Kings. great finish, great handle (which really matters, rough handles will tear you up). The Simpsons are the 2nd, the Reps' are the 3rd (their handles are too small in diameter IMO but nice besides that) and the Rogue's are the least nice. (roughest handle also smallest handle window, which makes it hard to get two hands on there, esp on a 48k bell).
    If i was starting today with KB"s I would go with the adjustable competition bells. So many more options for way less money and space. the Bells of Steel is esp nice with the small increments because honestly that's one of the really hard things with KB's is moving up 4k or 8k in a jump. Getting that small 0.5k jump can be real useful on things like bottoms up press or even regular press. If you do go hardstyle then handle finish really matters and cheap crappy bells don't work great, just FYI.
    a 16k bell as your high end isn't enough weight. You're underbelled. Most men will easily and quickly be able to work up to 32k swings so a set that runs to 32k is about right and most women probably to the 24k or so.
    a good KB workout with swings (the basic foundational movement of KB's), goblet squats and clean and presses (and snatch's if you're feeling like you want more cardio) is a fine workout that hits everything and you probably only have to change weight once or twice a workout (most people can swing and squat considerably more than they can press).
    HTH

    i've been eyeballing the North Gym adjustable kettlebell for a long time now. You're probably the first reviewer on youtube I've found that actually has one. out of curiosity, why did you pick the Bells of Steel over it? some of the aspects i find appealing about it is that the center of mass looks to be better maintained than the bells of steel one. i was wondering if you noticed any center of mass issues? also, i only buy competition kettlebells, so the shell shape is very important to me. Do you find that the north gym bell is on par with other competition bells, or is it noticeably different? Lastly, the time to change the weight is also pretty important. The north gym bell looks slightly faster to adjust the weight based on your timing. do you notice that it's quicker, or not very noticeable compared to bells of steel?
    honestly i don't think there's any other youtube reviews of the north gym bell right now, so you could probably be the first. ever since i found it 7 months ago, i've been waiting for a formal youtube review lol.
