I have worked quite hard. I got 96 per cent in my theory exam yesterday, from an accredited examiner here. To achieve this I did 32 practice exams, as well as studying. This was only grade 2 theory! I'm preparing for my grade 6 singing exam. It involves theory and aural tests as well as 6 operatic arias and folk songs. My message is, immerse yourself in theory and technique, practise phrases and never give up. Having a piano and being able to sight read music helps as you can correct mistakes.
Thank you for this. Sadly today I had a conversation with my daughter's school teacher just today and he was a strong believer that you can't have a career in music. I was furious. She has trained classically since the age of 8 and is almost 15. She has subscribers on TH-cam as well, but he made me feel as though we were wasting our time. It is strange when it comes to singing as compared to other professions.
