I have to say for someone who knows the bare minimum about LOONA, you've captured the underlying essence of the group and what they're all about in your reaction. Though the details are not quite exactly on the mark, you were right along the lines with your MV analysis. Watching this reaction, I'm kind of worried for you. Worried that this group will become your obsession as they have been for many who got into them and gotten to know them. I have been following them since the beginning of their predebut project almost 5 years ago (2016) and have experience everything that they have been involved in. I can guarantee you that once you begin your LOONA journey it's going to be life changing. There's no other group in K-pop that's like them and this is not me just being an Orbit. If you allow yourself the privilege of going through their journey from the start, you will discover an entirely new world that you wished you had experienced earlier. When the time comes and you've decided that you're ready to take the journey, I suggest watching a fan made documentary called "The Avengers of Kpop: The Story of LOONA" by the channel 'The Asian Theory' first. That video will give you an overall understanding of the group's beginnings, how they came to be, and what they're all about. Once you've grasped the basic concept of the group from that video then you can jump into the rabbit hole and start reacting to their predebut projects. I am giving you a fair warning though, once you jump in there's really no turning back so proceed at your own discretion. Anyways, I hope I didnt scare you with my very long comment 😆 LOONA really is a very special group and I hope that you give them a chance. I really love watching your reaction and even though I don't know you and your preferences very well (first time watcher) I think, just based on this video, you will absolutely love the group and what they have to offer. I am certainly looking forward to future LOONA content in your channel! 😊
Words of wisdom here from DJ, a legendary Orbit fan! BTW, you have questions about these two Loona MVs, and tho the answers could be just given to you, you should still begin your journey from the start in late 2016 when first girl, Heejin, brought color (and music) unto the world of Loona. Start then, and use any history/guide videos to help, if you like. Finally... Judging from your reaction, me thinks the Orbit force 🌝 is strong in this one❣️
@Daebak Jjang aw, this was actually an incredibly sweet comment. thank you! so in your opinion i should watch the 'the avengers of kpop' video first prior to watching their predebut projects, or is that something that could possibly be watched afterwards? at this point i almost want to go through their content in order and then watch the video and even a guide once i am ready if that makes sense lol
@@caitlyn.3481 You can certainly watch it at any point in time but many Orbits suggest watching it first for those trying to get into LOONA because it does a great job of answering many questions about the group's origins and what distinguishes them from many in the industry. Their pre-debut project is really complex and can be overwhelming for first timers to try and understand. The video will give you the basic understanding you need to make your LOONA journey a little smoother. It would certainly make you more hyped to go through the journey after watching it! Of course it's up to you on how you want to proceed in discovering LOONA! Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the group or anything else that's in your mind and I'll try to answer them as soon as I can 😁
'Butterfly' should have gotten the girls their 1st win - they were robbed. They did finally get their 1st win with 'So What' but I feel that it was bittersweet because even though they got their 1st win, it happened while Leader Haseul was on hiatus for her mental health so they didn't win it as ot12. But at least they got their 2nd win with ot12 for 'Paint The Town' (hoping for more wins this comeback).
enjoyed the reaction! btw @ 4:45 you're pretty much the first reactor i've seen to point out those text's in different languages, so props for that. the english translation of each of the phrases in sequential order is as follows: "The Moon" -> "Fate" -> "Higher Then Expected" -> "Girls of the Month" -> The Beginning of Fate" -> "Fly High" -> "Twelve Girls" -> "High High" -> "The Expectations" -> "Take Off" -> "Meeting and Beginning of Twelve" -> "Full Moon" i know that might sound like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but if you notice each phrase is showcased with a respective color. In Loona all 12 members have their own colors. If you were to rearrange the phrases by debut order of the Loona members (using the colors) you get this: "The beginning of fate. Fly high. High ,high, higher than expected . Take off, girls of the month (Loona). The moon. The expectations. Twelve girls, full moon, fate. The meeting and beginning of twelve." and that gives the underlying story of the Loonaverse.
If you're interested in the LOONAVerse lore, you should watch all the teasers before the MV. For Butterfly, there were five teasers X1X, ХIIX, XIIIX, XIVX plus "For All LOONAs around the World". For So What, there are also five teasers #, #1, #2, #3, and "To All LOONAs around the World".If you haven't seen So What yet, I suggest you watch the teasers first, they won't spoil the song.
Butterfly was very highly praised and still is. Yes the mv had many extras all with tons of diversity. The video was all about female empowerment no matter your race, religion, size, capabilities, age etc... you are beautiful and deserve to be seen, you are a Butterfly who will sprout her wings. Butterfly has such a beautiful message and to this day is one of my favorite songs and video from Loona and I've been following since pre-debut.
To answer your question, yes you SHOULD stan haha. I'm sure you know that each girl had their own solo debut before they debuted together and it was the most suspenseful, cathartic, satisfying debutes of all time. I highly suggest watching all their solos in order so you can get a feel for how Orbits felt at that time when they saw the next new member. LOONA is something so special.
I'm absolutely fascinated with how, at the ooooooaahh part in hi high (eg. 9:34), the hand gestures you're using to describe it look very similar to the actual choreography at that part!!!
It's not a requirement to learn the lore to enjoy their discography. But it is fun to theorize if that's what you're in to and it adds an extra layer. There are a few popular interpretation but BBC allow things to be open ended so you can personally interpret it for what you wanted it to be. Maybe there is a solid answer, but the solid answer may not come out until far into the future. It is also possible that pieces of the answer has been shown even on the very first video. From their '&' album, they definitively mention that the whole theme is about women empowerment. So to my perspective, every element of the lore could be a metaphor for this theme. But don't discount how fun the girls are, they are probably the funniest and most chaotic group in kpop. They are a meme factory. Don't be offended by orbits comments and meme videos, it's all for fun. AND BBC SUCKS [at promotion]!!! That's why you're only hearing about them now.
the LOONA journey is quite special, i started this year as well and i cannot believe how underrated this girls and her MVs are, honestly is the first kpop group i truly connected with, is such an inspiring project of art, how they include messages of unification, the complex storyline behind, their debut method was also quite unique and all the members are honestly amazing, so yes, this reaction was quite relatable lol
hi, i'm back again with my lore comments since you seemed curious about this particular part! i'll try to make as much sense with as little context as possible ^^ in the hi high mv the girls are trying to break a loop that they're stuck in. the girl in the middle of the dark room is olivia hye, and she's part of the unit yyxy. yyxy's music video is set in a place called eden, a place which represents darkness (hence the dark room) the other three members of yxyy run away to earth at the end of their love4eva mv, leaving olivia alone. but the other 11 girls are already on earth, and they need olivia there with them to break the loop. however, olivia doesn't want to go because she finds it hard to trust after being betrayed multiple times by yves (another member of yyxy, the member who persuaded the others to leave without her). in the scene in the dark room, the members of odd eye circle approach her, and convince her to trust. she realises she's being selfish ("i'm being more egoistic than i've ever been") so she agrees to go with them, and is taken to earth where she sees yves again (standing in the empty pool below the diving board). seeing yves is her final mark of persuasion, and she jumps off the diving board. this represents her becoming a resident of earth, joining the other girls and allowing the loop to be broken!!
I say just watch the MVs based on what you think you might like, getting the lore takes multiple watches with a microscope anyway, don't worry about catching everything at once. The solos are definitely worth listening to! Can't wait to see more!
I think this is my absolute favourite reaction ever, I really adore that you keep pausing to share your thoughts. I know most reactors say "I'm going to stop pausing it's annoying" or talk above the mv but in reality its not annoying at all, it's very cool to hear people share their thoughts about your favourite artists music, mvs, and just overall show interest in it! I really liked your reaction and how lovely and lively you are!
thank you! i honestly used to be like that too, but then i just kind of kept reminding myself that the entire point of these videos is to share out thoughts about what's happening. i just try to always make sure to stop and talking so i'm not talking over someone's note and to rewind when needed. :)
Yves and Olivia Hye are great individual dancers and obviously the best in the group. However as a group there's none better and it's not really even close.
Great reaction! No worries about the LOONAverse thingy. It's entirely up to you if you wanna go deep into it but you can enjoy LOONA as it is without going through the lore and everything. I'm almost a year old Orbit and I never went deep into the lore. I kinda get the gist of it but I never watched (aside from the avengers of kpop as it gave an intro to the lore) or read any theories about it as its not my thing (and I hate the blue bird app lol). I enjoy LOONA tho. Their music, their dance, their vocals, their chaotic personalities and HaSeul is what made me an Orbit.

@@caitlyn.3481 their last release Psycho was way back in dec 2019 and is more of a chill vocal epic but some of their most experimental title tracks are dumb dumb, zimzalabim and ice cream cake. They have a red cheerful side and a dark velvet side so you never really know what you’re going to get. I know fifi is a fan of them too so I am sure she can give you some suggestions as well. They finally have a comeback planned for August so now is a good time to check them out.
