      @@cl-audio322 oh yeah? What do you think of the C2X? It looks good on paper, though I suspect it might be outclassed in C2 comps. But not for scale goodness, RC4WD do a good job there. Nice rig collection!

      @@RCTNT Definitely not class 2 competition worthy but it looks great and performs decent. A few mods and i think it will perform as good as the TRX4 sport and look a lot better to boot lol. Do you have a favorite RTR or kit yet?

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cl-audio322 hm, the trx4 sport was the easiest kit I've ever built, I reckon. The GS02F is the best performing kit. The Sendero HD is the best performing RTR in stock form. The BC8 Mammoth is the best engineered rc model I've encountered in my life. The TF2 was my first modern remake of the Bruiser. The Bruiser was what got me into this stuff years ago - three gears and selectable 4wd, wow! The TRX4 Defender has provided me with many hours of fun and I love having engageable diff locks. The Hercules hobby container trailer behind the King Kong CA-10 (ZIL-130 model) is scale fun for sure.... How am I meant to choose beyond that? Maybe if I could only have one rig ever and only, well.. It'd have to be scale, and hard body... It'd have to be either a hard body adapted into a trx4 or it'd have to be the BC8. That's the story!

    Ooh, I love the look of this truck, and it performs. Thanks!

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a little ripper, alright! As long as the snappy power of bigger systems is kept far away from this model, it's a real performer! I'd be recommending a 35 turn motor on 2S or a 45 turn on 3S - or for ultimate plushness, a 16 turn 540 5-pole on 3S, all of the above with standard gearing. I really like this rig - once you get the power capped to protect those weaker cast gears! Cheers :)

    Another great video!! Glad to see that they corrected the transmission casing, as this was causing ‘gear clicking’ issues in earlier models- as the whole assembly was a stressed member in the chassis…in extreme flex situations.
    Very nice kit indeed….and I love Korean made ( Our kids are Korean!) - may have to look at getting this soon…..I need a new hiding spot for toys!!

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve been eyeing this new GS02F version of the BOM for a long time. My only issue is availability of parts given GMade doesn’t have the same availability of brass, etc. I sold my V1 Element builders kit as I was focusing on my Brazin ATL TRX4 comp rig. The V1 Element needed a lot of plastic improvements but the V2 seems better.

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This rig doesn't need brass, truly. It just wants steel cut diff gears (don't know if they exist - I reached out to gmade but they did not give a clear answer, so I suspect this isn't on their radar) and maybe you'd add slightly heavier beadlock wheels (say, 140g each corner would be ideal). Quite honestly, that's about all it needs to be an absolute top-shelf enthusiasts' performer.

    • @jonthomas8487
      @jonthomas8487 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCTNT regarding the diff gears are the aluminum ones stripping?

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonthomas8487 They're not aluminium, they're cast moulded. I discuss it in my follow up video, Gmade 'Boom ' TC, it's in my gmade playlist or just scroll through my recent uploads, it's from a couple of weeks ago. Only short.
      I've got replacements coming and when they're here I'm going to be running 3S instead of 4S and probably a 5-slot motor instead of the punchier 3-slot that's in it. I'll do an update video once the parts are here.
      But in short, these diff gears are the Archille's heel of the model. Everything else about it is just sensational!

    I was so eager to see this review posted!! That BOM looks BADASS and performs like one too!! Love it! Makes me so excited to get one, that I might even do so before the Element Builders kit V2... Especially since you're not alone saying that the build process is long, but a total joy.
    I still think I would end up getting the "Blazer-style" Buffalo (also a GS02F underneath, only difference being the rear suspension), but the BOM's cantilever trick-suspension is tempting! I wonder how different these two perform...
    Now, I can't wait for you to put this chassis against the Sendero HD and TRX4 Sport... But I figure maybe you'll wait til you finish building the Cross RC and review that first... Exciting times ahead! Thanks for the amazing content, dude!!

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The TRX4 needs to have its overdrive gears installed as part of its stage 2 before / after video, which is coming soon. Then it'll be kit build video comparison, including the EMO, and there'll also be a comparison of rigs with overdrive, as this is a big deal for crawling performance.
      Plenty more coming. Glad you're enjoying these! Thanks for the detailed thoughts!

    • @YoShImUrA53

      @@RCTNT I tested a TRX4 with a custom LCGish chassis today, by the way. Pretty impressive! It seemed it couldn't be stopped.
      As I type this, I wonder, what would be more effective, an LCG chassis, overdriven gears, or fill-in-the-gap? I suppose, as always, the answer would be it depends, but maybe there's an idea for a relatively distant future video against your comp-rig?

    • @RCTNT

      @YoShImUrA53 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCTNT I've asked the owner, as I'm not sure. Some sort of first batch of a custom-type of chassis. I think it has flat carbon fiber rails, joined with solid carbon joints/rods, to make it very light, as you do, but not much more that I investigated, tbh. Will report back :)

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YoShImUrA53 cool, thank you! My comp rig has a delrin chassis, a stand in for a friend of mine who was putting carbon fibre rails into production (Rock Mobsters). I liked the flex in the prototype so have been using it for now. There's plenty of scope for development, especially with rapid prototyping tech available to so many these days! We're living in The Good Old Days right now, no doubt.

      Yes, do check one out !!! 😁
      I own the (GS02F) Military version, and I could not be happier !!!! This.....is a great crawler, probably the best money can buy on the entire RC crawler market !!!! I am not too sure about the level of durability, so I only run 3S for now. I recommend automatically replacing the driveshafts right away !! But mine have held-up just fine on 3S, with easy driving !! 🙂
      I had one problem when installing the driveshafts, which was the cheap metal threaded (roll-pins) that hold the driveshafts in place on each end of the transmission output shafts. (Front & Rear) output shafts were fine, it was just those damn threaded roll-pins (2) that stripped-out, cuz (I, used a standard basic quality "L" shaped allen wrench, which I know now caused the allen-head of the roll-pins to strip-out & twist the top part of the roll-pin allen-holes !!! This can be avoided by using MIP Drivers, or other high-er quality drivers, for the roll-pins were the 1.5mm size, and that as most of us know, already makes it difficult to make the screws & "roll-pin heads" last !!! So just do yourself a favor and get a good to great set of metric allen drivers for the entire assembly of this awesome KIT !!!!
      ✳️DO NOT BUY THE DURATRAX DRIVERS, AND "EXPECT" THEM TO LAST THROUGH THE ENTIRE BUILDING PROCESS !!!!!✳️
      - My set did not last !!!
      But other than that, this has been a very satisfying & easy to assemble KIT !! 😁
      ENJOY GREATNESS, WITH THE BEST CRAWLER ON THE WORLD'S ENTIRE RC CRAWLER MARKET !!!!
      - THAT IS A FACT, DUE TO THE GMADE GS02F's CAPABILITY, AS FAR AS ITS' "FUNCTION" !!!! NO OTHER RC CRAWLER OFFERS AS MUCH AS THIS ONE DOES, PERIOD. - GOOD LUCK TO ALL RC-ers OUT THERE !!!!!
      😉🤘😁 GO GMADE !!!!
      (#☝️IN THE WORLD) 😜
      ...suck it Traxxas !!!!! 😆🤣

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sweet, that'll look pretty good! I'm going to keep the flares on this, as they look good and only a small amount of polycarbonate needs to go in order to clear it right up. Less is more in this case, I reckon :)

    Thanks for the video, how is the truck holding up after few years?

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's still good, though I broke diff gears during the Wet Tire Test video. I've since done a bit more on this issue and concluded that this truck is best on 2S. Having a 2-speed gearbox means it still has the speed when you want it, and you aren't putting enough power through it to break things.
      It remains hugely capable and satisfying to drive. I've taken it to group meets and stuff over the months and it's always good.

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, nice choice! Make sure you have a look at my playlist for this truck. I cover power options in the later videos.
      For comps, consider a 12T 5-slot motor. Bit more speed than the 16T. Fwiw, Holmes have these in 12T and 16T, among others. Crawlmaster Sport is the one to get, they come in 540 and 550 (540 be fine for this rig). Magnets will be better than in the Surpass motor option, I'd expect.

      Hm that is weird, yes. Torque twist should be largely solved with counter rotating shafts.
      They are counter rotating, right? You checked? (I don't expect it can be done wrong but it probably wouldn't hurt to check that!)
