I was once very afraid of bees and wasps, or anything that stings. I now put out water for them (and the stray cats, etc.) and think it is beautiful to watch them.
As long as the Hornet or Wasp aren't on the Killing mode fuck you turned on, that is fine. Because when wasps are all like: Hey my work is done, now I can do ANYTHING, they will be aggressive even if THEY are the ones approaching you.
To me it seems a wasp's work is never done. Granted, when they are foraging, they are more docile, understanding that they are sharing the space with others. But surely they work harder at home, because it is there they hope to rest and raise a family. I have sought to get to know wasps for two decades now, and I barely understand them. It has taken a long time to get over my fear, but the less I fear them the less, it seems, I have to fear. As with many other animals, fear and confidence are easily perceived. Confidence is calm (even if you have to fake it) and not provoking. Sometimes wasps establish their nests too close for comfort and I do think, in those cases, humane removal is necessary, as wasps can be dangerous, when they are territorial. But mostly wasps are actually very beneficial for our survival.
There's a guy at the farmers market in my city and he sells nothing but honey and bouquets of lavander and clover from his farm. There's always bees peacefully flying around the honey, flowers, and him. They like to walk and sit on him and its so magical 🙂🙂🙂🍯. I used to be scared of bees, but they're always so gentle around that guy. And you can gently pick them up if you're calm. Haha if a bee lands on me now, I assume she just wants a ride or he thinks I smell like flowers 💐
Hornets & Wasps DON'T attack unless you disturb their nest, my friend had a giant hornet's nest the size of a basketball in a tree (mainly need a ladder to get to) but we let it alone and it never bothered us.
Not a bad video, but I do have a couple of corrections: "Bees" is an Epifamily which includes several Families. Apidae or Honey Bees, Bumble Bees, and Allies is just one Bee Family and it doesn't include Mining Bees, Plasterer Bees, Sweat Bees, or Mason, Leafcutter, Morter, Resin, and Carder Bees. Honey Bees are very important pollinators, but they get a lot of credit which should go to all of the other bees, and do to the fact that Honey Bees are domestic animals they are not struggling anywhere near the level that many of the solitary specialist bees are struggling.
I live in Kentucky and have been noticed more of an almost all yellow, what I think is wasp, that is very small showing up a lot more. They could be about 1/2 inch and pretty slender. I did find a spot between two bricks that separated a little on the side of the house they look like quite a few have been going in an out. Fortunately it doesn’t look like a huge hive amount going in and out. Any idea what kind they might be?
I only bother wasps when they bother me, like attacking me out of nowhere in my own backyard or building a nest right above my front door. Those colonies don't survive. The rest can go on their merry way.
Hey, if you don’t know how to move the nest properly or have a appropriate location to move it to there’s plenty of support to assist. You may even have people locally that can help you. If not, go online and seek advice from a professional. Wildlife charities/organisations should be your first port of call. Are you still living in Torbay? Call Devon wildlife trust. Hope that helps and also hope you’re well!! 😀
the main kinds that need to go only cuz they are a danger to whatevers around/near them are the killer bees, the giant honeybee thats in india, the red paper wasp/red wasp, warrior wasps, and the asian giant hornet, cuz these species are the most aggressive and get rid of yellowjackets and bald faced hornets
I only have a problem with the killer bees and the asian giant hornets And there aren't yellow jackets/bald faced hornets in my country so I can't comment
all social wasps are aggressive and territorial around their colony. they've all been around for ages without any issues, dont see why they should go extinct, all of them are important predators for the ecosystem
