TTP was one of thy most transformational learning experiences in my life with Jesus Christ. Early on, I desperately needed a Bible teacher that understood the totality of the Word of God. That training grabbed my attention right from the beginning, and held it all the way through. I missed one week, and the leader lent me the disc to catch up. I must have watched it a dozen times in the week before the following lesson. I fell in love with it and I realized that I MUST own it for myself. I had later gone through the training for the leadership portion, and have hosted this course at least 5 times since. I haven't stopped loving this content, nor have I stopped following Dr Del Tackett and his ministry. From the multi-disc set of TTP to the variable 'TrueU' series, to the "Is Genesis History" documentary, and the follow up "Beyond Is Genesis History", I continue to honor Jesus and his transformative work on thy cross and the beautiful discipling under the tutelage of Dr Del Tackett with continued study. Thanks sooo much for putting this onto this platform, as flawed as it might be, we get to experience this explanation from the man himself and share it with loved ones instantly thanks to you, and TH-cam. May God bless you...

@@wimahlersDarwin actually doubted his own theory and pointed out it’s numerous flaws and admitted he just wanted to find a way to remove God from the world because he suffered terrible grief but atheists took a hold of his unprovable and flawed THEORY and declared it as true. Louis Pasteur proved that life can not come from non-life shattering the THEORY of evolution and relegating it to its correct fairytale status. Science, actual science, disproves evolution at every step but this is inconvenient for atheists because the only other option is an intelligent creator. God. People are so desperate to get away from God that they cling to disproved scientific theories whilst ignoring actual scientific facts and declaring those who oppose them as the ones who ignore science. The FULFILLED Prophecies in God's Word (The Bible) alone prove beyond any doubt that:
      1. Jesus is REAL.
      2. The Bible was written by an "Intelligence" from outside our time domain.
These verses were written between 739 and 861 B.C. BEFORE Christ was even born, giving ABSOLUTE PROOF to it's legitimacy:
      Isaiah 52: 13-15 & 53: 1-12
'Behold, My Servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled and be very high.
Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men; So shall He sprinkle many nations.
Kings shall shut their mouths at Him; For what had not been told them they shall see, and what they had not heard they shall consider.'
'Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked- But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.'

Unfortunately, if it is not Jesus, all else is evil for it is of this world as man has made it by choice of evil from the free will given to him.

The proper place for the study of religious beliefs is in a church or temple, or in a course of comparative religion, but not in a biology class. There is no place in our world for an ideology that seeks to close minds, force obedience, and return the world to a paradise that never was. Students should learn that the universe can be confronted and understood, that ideas and authority should be questioned, that an open mind is a good thing. Education does not exist to confirm people's superstitions, and children do not learn when they are fed only dogma.

As a Christian, I struggle with treating Genesis as a historical record - It's a bit like a textbook on the 20th Century that leaves out WW2...
Genesis writes about the Flood, but the Chicxulub impact that is clearly evidenced in our planet's strata is missing... The evidence for this impact is identified by geologists and it looks to be a catastrophe far greater than the Flood.
We believe Chicxulub impact took out the dinosaurs, but no one wrote about it. Not even the Australian Aborigines record this in song or art.
Geologists also are saying they have found chunks from the Theia impact deep down in our planet's core.
Where do these events appear on the YEC timeline?

The variety of "comments" here that have been posted, tend to give evidence to the truth of that view.

He also pointed to the complexity of computer codes and some of the mechanisms that enable airplanes to fly, and compares the complexity of these man-made inventions to the complexity that exists in the natural world, such as the complexity that we find in hummingbirds, mosquitos, as well as the complexity that exists within the human cell. He uses all of these examples of incredible complexity within nature, and argues that the incredible degree of complexity and order that we see in the Universe could not have simply been the product of blind, random chance. Atheists believe that before
"the big bang" there was nothing.
      Christians believe
that the Spirit Creator God was there.
So atheists have this incredible faith
in nothing suddenly popping into everything.
Christians have faith in this Incredible Creator
      making everything out of nothing.
How can this be a difficult choice?
      a) Nothing used nothing
to make everything out of nothing.
      b) "In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth."
There is no evidence of a) ever having
happened again; none, zero, nicht, nada.
The scriptures attesting to b) have been with us
since as far back as we can remember.

to claim proof for their position in "science".

      to believe that magical events
      can have a scientific basis.

A global flood. Hmmm. Unfortunately we know exactly how much sea level would rise if every bit of ice on this planet melted. You see we can fly over antarctica and greenland and measure the ice depth from the airplane. There isnt enough water to raise sea levels to the point where mountain ranges are under water. The biggest contributor antarctica would raise the sea level by 250ft if it totally melted. There was no biblical flood, not enough water.
Yes there are fossils in rocks right at the top of high mountains. Science knows how they got there, plate tectonics. Lateral forces from convection currents in the mantle can make continents collide, some rocks are thrust up as they do. India movig north collided with Asia and rocks with fossils in them were thrust up high. No flood is needed to explain them.
There was a little flood in the black sea, not long ago really, memories of it may have been passed down trough oral history. Oral history gets written down when people learn to write. It gets put into books. Its hardly surprising. Believing in the literal truth of such books is just silly.

It begins with arbitrarily assuming laws of logic with no proof that such laws exist and continues on to assert that laws of physics behave consistently enough that we can observe and make predictions using them. This is indeed necessary for scientific observation, but in the atheist's random-chance worldview, why would it be so?

Man is incapable of understanding all of creation and what it took to get it all started in the beginning. Man spends billions of dollars a year that is robbed from tax payers to "discover" what is undiscoverable. When you throw money at anything the debacle begins. The most comfort that man shall ever have on this earth it the realization that Jesus fulfilled everything that He promised by AD 70. All was fulfilled. This is the greatest proof that He is whom He claimed to be and that there is a God. When that realization occurs then man can quit looking for scientific reasoning for the creation. The Creator is the reason. My book points out that Jesus did what He claimed. He told His apostles that they would not have gone through all the cities of Israel before His advent. He stated that those that pierced Him would live to see His coming. He told Peter that John would live to see His coming. Many think that Jesus' apostles lived under the New Covenant. That is fallacy. Paul states in Hebrews about the Old Covenant that "it waxeth old and is getting ready to disappear." Hebrews was written a minimum of twenty years after Jesus ascension. There are many other verses that also attest to this. Revelation 14:13 states "Blessed are those that die henceforth." This verse precedes a description of His coming. All were cursed under the law, the Old Covenant. All experienced death, the sinner and the saint. Under that which is perfect, the New Covenant, the repentant soul shall rise upon death of the fleshly body. The resurrection was only for those under the OC. The marriage supper of the Lamb was the marrying in of the OC saints into the NC that allows eternal life, which is in His kingdom. Prior to His coming on clouds and the consummation of the OC, no human soul had ever gone to heaven. It is all covered in my book. The only sources for research and study was the scriptures and historical documented facts only, and not the opinions of any man. Those that were "left behind" at the consummation were the Christians. The late great planet earth shall go on forever.

When the Roman forces overtook the city of Jerusalem in AD 70 the Jews retreated to the temple and were on the wall defending themselves. Atheists believe that before
"the big bang" there was nothing.
      Christians believe
that the Spirit Creator God was there.
So atheists have this incredible faith
in nothing suddenly popping into everything.
Christians have faith in this Incredible Creator
      making everything out of nothing.
How can this be a difficult choice?
      a) Nothing used nothing
to make everything out of nothing.
      b) "In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth."
There is no evidence of a) ever having
happened again; none, zero, nicht, nada.
The scriptures attesting to b) have been with us
since as far back as we can remember.
Ironically the a) camp have the audacity
to claim proof for their position in "science".
Really? Yes, they think we're that stupid
      to believe that magical events
      can have a scientific basis.

Another view: The writer of Gen. 1 did not write a history of the universe, in a modern sense of history. The writer sanctified the Name, so what he writes about the origins is consistent with who God is.
    And:
God called the light DAY, not the darkness. There is only one day of creation, and that is the light that overcomes the darkness, in all aspects and fases of creation.

The reason you have to take a young earth creationist stance as a Christian is because a non-literal reading of genesis does not adequately answer the question of the “original sin” doctrine.
If you think I’m wrong, and you are an old earth creationist or theistic evolutionists...Explain to me who committed the first sin for mankind, and when that sin was committed (AKA when did humans separate from God).

A book of truth, starting in verse one with God creating.
Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God.
So if you want to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving your science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally.

To me, creation is a big deal and it's wimpy to talk tough about things already created when creation itself needs to be explained. So I'm a creationist. Notice how the word "creation" is in that title. I believe creation was supernatural. No, I didn't automatically believe that God did it, but once I established it was supernatural by the overwhelming evidence, then I set out to find out what or who did the supernatural creation by having evidence to back that up. I did end up believing it was the God of the bible. It wasn't the 'god of the gaps' god, nor the 'we just don't know yet' god, nor the Big Bang, god, nor the 'nothing', god, nor the 'quantum physics', god, nor.... . Anyway, you get the picture.

You try to switch the burden of proof in that last sentence. You still have the burden of proof on your claims.
      - there is creation.
      - the cause is supernatural, i guess it depends on what you mean by supernatural aswell.

If one has to "comprehend" nature to be an atheist that's not evidently seen in te evidence of naturalism and evolution theory. If you can prove scientifically how mindless changes result in intelligent outcomes within nature such as the existence of DNA, complex biological systems, male and female reproduction in most lifeforms, the order of the universe, the evidence of order in the observable design in the human body ie the brain, the hands, the nervous system, the human eye, our ability to imagine, dream, create and design..I will listen to you but I think to be an atheists you do take all that for granted and try to fit God into your little box. You cannot comprehend God and that does not mean creationists cannot comprehend nature simply we KNOW the truth, nature was made BY God and it's order has limitations set by God from the beginning.

The inadequacy of evolutionary theory to explain the indescribable integrated functional complexity of biological life is glaring in this day and age. Darwin's theory was accepted in the 1800s and it's wholly and completely insufficient to explain the vast array of life in light of today's knowledge of the biological world. We are told by evolutionists the "just so" story that an unknown microorganism flew over geological time constantly increasing in complexity until it culminated in the most complex thing in the known universe - the human brain. Yet, we haven't seen one instance of higher complexity in all of recorded history. The evidence that is given to support the Darwinian story can easily be interpreted in the context of Intelligent Design/Creation Science. If evolution is true, there must be evidence for it in the real world -- instead of interpretations to fit the neo-Darwinism story. Evolutionary theory is a scientific theory but it is not based on any empirical evidence.

The story of Adam and Eve (which is what I'm assuming you asked about when you said the "Book of Genesis" in it of its literal self is not real. We have much scientific proof of the Earth's true age and evolution spanning back hundreds of years. That DOES NOT take away from the very much TRUE nature of the story. The story is meant to portray the nature of the human, which is to sin, and it is a story meant to give reason for honoring the sabbath day (hence how God rested on the seventh day). God worked through revelations and inspiration to ordinary people. That being said, there was no way that he could have even began to explain the entirety of Earth's history and creation to a feeble-minded human back in those times. Heck we don't even understand it fully to this day. The Bible was not meant to be a scientific book, that is why there are encyclopedias. The Bible is a guide to salvation and ultimately to heaven. I repeat, it tells us how to get to heaven, not how the heavens were made. I hope this helps.
P.S. It's not that the Bible is "false" but there are many types of literature in it. You have to differentiate between the literal and the figurative to get the full picture that is God's message.

So the evidence that he offers is that the Tower of Babel is compatible with God's nature.
    Gen.11
    KJV
[1] And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
[2] And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
[3] And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
[4] And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
[5] And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
[6] And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
[7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
[8] So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.
[9] Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
So what is God's character here? He sees that men are able to cooperate with each other, and that when mankind does this there is nothing they can't accomplish. God reacts with a fit of jealous rage and creates national and tribal division (symbolized by language difference) so that we can no longer cooperate with each other. Notice the people don't act out of pride, the purpose of the tower is not idolatry; surely the tower poses no threat to God. God simply wants to stop human beings living up to their full potential (if that still sounds wrong to you, go back and read it again). It is also noteworthy that God had to go down to earth to find out about the tower, so just as when he is surprised by developments in Eden: the author thinks god is not omnipotent.
Doe this hippy, or even the craziest Christian, think that English came into existence at this remote point in time? If it did, where was it until Beowulf? If it didn't, and Middle English came into existence as a pidgin between Old English and Old Norse as Tom SHippey and others think based on the evidence, in other words by a natural process, why should we think other languages did not do the same?

Nothing the speaker said confirms creationism or that there is a GOD other than that the speaker believes in it. The speaker is amazed at life and he explains it to himself that GOD is responsible. In fact the 1 billion years of life from a single cell to the incredible current complexity of life proves there is no GOD. I have no fear of a GOD nor do I take issue with your chosen faith. There develops a threat when those with a faith demand that I have the same faith not another faith, conduct my life based on their understanding of their faith and constrict my freedom to be myself in order to validate the faith they themselves insist on following. To paraphrase a common meme, "Don't tread on me", your faith ends on your front step, not at mine.

I'm sorry to say this but you need to be more informed. First, just because you believe that life can evolve from a single cell to our present configuration does nothing to eliminate the need for God. The challenge isn't just getting from a single cell to the present, which is a huge challenge that scientists have yet to explain, but in the origin of life to begin with. In the Ool question there are astronomically larger obstacles to overcome. So until there is a viable model for the Ool, then you have no cause to say that God is unneeded, even if you believe that biological evolution makes it so.
Second, I know very few people who demand that you have the same faith as them. No Bible believing Christian would because the Bible says you have to make a personal choice to follow Jesus.
As for restricting freedom, every belief system put into law does that. Its certainly, inconsistent, to act like its wrong for people of faith to be against something like abortion and ignore the secular godless community that is trying to force their opinions about sexual orientation on my children. The simple truth is that all laws are based off of some group of people's opinion about right and wrong.
Otherwise, no one is telling you that you can't be yourself. Be whoever you want to be but that doesn't give you the right to force others to accept you for who you want to be. So don't be a hypocrite and hyperbolize what people of faith are doing to you.

But how did they and their off spring procreate, incest? If a God created in his own image why did a God have genitles? Why is there not a recorded history of these events other than a story told millenium after the fact? So many real questions and the Bible offers nothing but a demand that you beleive only one myth.

      Evolutionists believe that before
"the big bang" there was nothing.
      Christians believe
that the Spirit Creator God was there.
So atheists have this incredible faith
in nothing suddenly popping into everything.
Christians have faith in this Incredible Creator
      making everything out of nothing.
How can this be a difficult choice?
      a) Nothing used nothing
to make everything out of nothing.
      b) "In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth."
There is no evidence of a) ever having
happened again; none, zero, nicht, nada.
The scriptures attesting to b) have been with us
since as far back as we can remember.
Ironically the a) camp have the audacity
to claim proof for their position in "science".
Really? Yes, they think we're that stupid
      to believe that magical events
      can have a scientific basis.

Christof L: There is lots of evidence for the Big Bang. For example, the light from galaxies throughout the Universe is largely red-shifted, which means that the Universe is expanding. There's also Cosmic Background Radiation, which is leftover radiation from the Big Bang. I am very much a believer that God created the Universe, and I see the Big Bang in the Bible - "God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."

Derek Atkins: The universe is expanding and that is observable but there is no way of knowing it was ever condensed in one point the size of a period on a page of writing that is speculation. There is another theory of the universe called the "breathing universe" where expansion and contraction takes place. Cosmic background radiation does not necessitate a big bang. You are right the Creator/Creators could have used the Big Bang as well as evolution once life was created but someone had to create the conditions for life as well as life before this could take place. Organization does not come from chaos. Macro-evolution doesn't ever take place and life never comes from non life.

Thank you, Dr Tackett. I’m grateful this science is being done and discussed. However, I would like to point out that it might be a good idea to make a point of using the more accurate terms “creation scientist and creation science”. Using the term “creationist” seems to give the false impression that the science is sketchy, like an astrologist.
I know that you know you are a bonafide, PhD scientist. I want to help the people watching this (and other videos on this topic) to take what your saying seriously. So many have the impression you guys are wackos. But your not, you are a real scientist.
Keep up the good work! I wish I could help, but I’m undereducated, and have no skills except a logically thinking mind.
I’m sure the trolls will have fun with my comments, but I don’t care what they think anyway. Anyone who spends so much time making snide remarks on other people’s posts has to have a miserable life. How I pray that the Lord open their minds to see the truth, and that they repent and accept Jesus Christ as their savior! Amen

With all the respect, the speech is a circular argumentation, thus no argumentation. You are talking about what your beliefs are, and from the title of video, one could expect to see some argumentation, not beliefs. One beliefs are for no help for another. You are saying Genesis is... consistent with God, but God is depicted by humans, who wrote Genesis also. Circular walking. If you have grown up reading the Scripture, that explains much. Should you have been born in India, you would have grown up reading Bhagavadgita, so this speech, with respect, doesn't help anybody to reason anything. Or maybe I did not cath the purpose of the speech.
There are so many naive, childish things in the Bible (Genesis and those about Adam, Eve, apple etc) that look like written in a hurry to explain somehow the World. Humans do not like unexplained things and are a scary species when it comes to beliefs. So they invent, even these days, stories over stories about anything. The human brain and the construction being a believing being, no matter in what, didn't change in 2000 years - just stacked different stories accordingly to the times. If one believe one story it does not mean that that is the true... Sad, but homo sapiens it is what it is
