Crappy Recovery!!! Old septic found

- In this video, Caleb and I were sent to recover a septic truck that fell into an old septic tank. The proprty owner nor the driver knew it was there. We tried to recover the truck with one wrecker but we were unsuccessful. Mr Wilbert brought our other V 100 to assist. We lifted the rear with one wrecker and winched forward with the other. We then prepped the truck to tow and carried back to owner. Thanks for watching, don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE this video!

"Sorry to get you out like this" That one statement is what separates Mr. Hal from other employers. He cares about his employees. Mr Wilbert was probably on his way home as this seems late in the day. I also heard him tell Caleb " I will help you I ain't afraid to get dirty". Much respect to Mr Hal especially since he probably doesn't feel the best. You folks get it done. Hope the septic tank folks have insurance. That is going to cost some money to fix...
Mr Johnny Yes sir I don't like calling drivers back in but Mr Wilbert is always willing. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Ehat is because Mr. Wilbert is of an older generation and that's just how you do things. Not trying to start arguemen6s, there are good/bad everywhere...@@SumterWrecker
Great job guys. Those can be tricky. Especially with limited space. Great to see everyone working together.
Every successful company needs a Mr. Wilbert on the payroll…😊
Mr John Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That one gave your trucks a workout. Good job was done by Mr. Hal and his crew!
Mr Edwin yes sir a rotator would have been nice. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Thank you and stay safe.
Mr Mauritz Thanks for watching and stay safe as well
I found one years ago with a wheelbarrow full of stone some one put a timber lid on it and put soil on it and grew grass it was a wake up call to say the least great video
Mr Ray That would make for a bad day. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great recovery guys. Mr Hal one of our Mixers fell into an old septic tank hole last year with 10 yards on. Thankfully it didn't roll over and they got most of his load off using a skid steer but when it came time for the recovery it took a 65ton Rotator and a 50ton integrated Wrecker to get it out. The Rotators outriggers were floating up off the ground and the integrated front end was 3ft in the air. Very heavy pull. Thanks for the video. Be safe.
Mr Dan I bet that was a fun one. This truck was heavier than we estimated. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker Yes sir and you handled it like the professional you guys are.
You guys were in a “smelly” situation there Mr. Hal. You guys were lucky it didn’t tear the tank all the way off and you guys had to do something with that. Great video. Thanks for sharing and feel better soon.
Proud Papaw Yes sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Nice job Mr Hal. Abandoned tanks are supposed to be drained and back-filled or removed. I did that job back in the 60s, & again to help the old bosses son in the 90s. Even with owners consent and directions we never entered a yard without first probing the ground to get there.
Looks like they've learned an expensive lesson. Ya sure have a great crew! Thanks for sharing. 👍
Blessings
Mr Barry I did not know that about old tanks. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The "Honey Sucker" found the "Honey Hole"! 😂 That was a bad day for all involved. I don't know if he was backing to the tank to be pumped or if he was pulling away from the tank they pumped, but either way, I bet that was a bad experience for the driver when that truck layed over in that hole.
And then there's the treat for your crew having to crawl around under and handle any leaks from that type of truck. Like you said, "crappy job but somebody's got to do it". If there is a bright side, at least it wasn't middle of summer (hot) and raining!
Mr David I glad it wasn't summer as well. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal, first. . . I had something similar to you. It took 3 weeks to get over it. Dr. said at first it was Covid and the test came back negative. As for the recovery, I think the V100s did what they do best !! Great job by the entire team. Cough, cough 😷
Mr James I wish I could have gotten it with one truck. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That was a tough one but as always you all did a professional job .Mr Hal hope you get feelig better soon thanks for thev
Ii

Mr John I would have liked to recovered with one truck . Thanks for watching and stay safe
Sometimes it takes 2 trucks great recovery
Really challenging job! Even though you don't have a rotator, those Vulcans are beasts!
Steel fist Yes sir they are. I wish we could have gotten it with one truck. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job guys!
Glocksforme thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
I figured a septic company would have a more sophisticated way of finding a tank 😂 its always good to see no injuries and a great recovery.
Mr Cole This was an abandoned tank the property owner didn't even know was there. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job sir, full marks to you and your team. Especially as you’re obviously not well. I’m glad I didn’t have to get under and cage the brakes and drop the tail shaft. Get well soon, and thank you for a very interesting video.🇦🇺
Mr Wonjat Thanks for watching and stay safe
A great job!! Your experience shows that you know to access and adapt accordingly to the situation. And not make the situation worse. Thank you for sharing your experiences on the job. Get well soon and be safe out there!

Yeah that was something different for sure. You were in the deep doo doo on that one but you got it out and that's all that counts. Main thing nobody got hurt. It wasn't that bad after all good stuff 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
I paddle my own canoe. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Mr Lloyd We appreciate you watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe

Mr Alan Yes sir a rotator would have been nice. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Mr Jamie Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great Job Guys
Mr Danny Thanks for watching and stay safe
Luckily it looks like the frame wasn't twisted 🙂👍 Nice work fellas 🔧
Mr Zane I hope it wasn't. The finder and tank could be welded back. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Wow Mr Hal that was a really tough one great job👍👍
Mr Russell thanks for watching and stay safe
Might be a crappy job, but the Sumter people are up to the job. Great job on a hard job.
Mr Dan Thanks for watching and stay safe
That was a tough one Mr Hal 😳 but the Sumter crew got it . Great job😊
Fishpolice Yes sir it was. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great video
Mr NorCalray Thanks for watching and stay safe
Now that could have been a real nasty job if the tank on the truck had bust as it fell in the hole we would think by now that when tankers are made they would put lifting point(eyes)on top of the top thank you Mr Hal for sharing the video.
Mr Abuubaydullah Yes sir lifting points would have been alot easier. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Hal
BIG 😢WOW! Hope you are feeling better!
Mr Gary Yes sir I am. Thank you for watching our videos. Stay safe
i have mild COPD so i understand coughing and shortness of breath. good recovery
Mr Jim Yes sir it is rough. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Looked like a tough job awesome team work to get it done
Mr Tom Yes sir a rotator would have been nice. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job Mr Hal, Maybe get some of them job site lights so we can see better. But it won't keep me from watching if you don't get any. Thank you for being so nice to all your workers, but don't let them take advantage of you. Keep up the good work, God bless.
Driftter007 We have them on the trucks just never got around to setting them up. Thanks for watching and stay safe
those "Honey Wagons" sure seem to get themselves in awkward situations.
Glen's projects No one knew that one was there. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Years ago my fire department responded to a grass fire on a rural property. Small tanker when leaving the scene dropped its right rear into a septic tank but was smart enough to keep moving when he felt the truck settle. Drove right out. Homeowner filed a claim against the department's insurance and got paid. Ever since then when people tell us to drive across their property we asked them where their septic tank. If they don't know we don't drive there. Most people don't have a clue.
Mr Gene Yes sir. We appreciate you watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
i've found 3 septic tanks over the years with a fire engine , a dump truck and a crane
Bluegrass They are always a challenge to get out. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Oh wow, he found it real good, thing must've been pretty deep
Mr James Yes sir it was. Thanks for watching and stay safe
You're blessed with a top shelf crew, appreciate you letting us follow along.
Dang. That crap hauler way past it's retirement. Just looking at it from the video the frame looked twisted big timeLooked like you had to call all hands on deck and took way longer than you wanted it to.
Go KC Chiefs.
Mr Michael We appreciate you watching and commenting. Stay safe
wow that one came out much harder than i thought it would initially, i call bs on only 7000 lbs in that tank. i bet the driver had his own code brown situation when he fell in there.
Mr Ezra Yes sir I agree. I think the weight was alit heavier than we figured. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Them things can be a pain to get out. We had a loaded Cement truck do the same thing and there was no way to get beside it due to a house on either side. everything had to be done in front on the truck. i don’t want to get another one like that ever again.
Mr Keith Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal That looked like a stinky job.
Mr Charles I am glad my sinuses were messed up. Thanks for watching and stay safe
always glad to see new ways to overcome difficult recoveries
Mr Bryant I really wish one truck would have gotten it but with a stick boom I couldn't lift straight up and pull. Thanks for watching and stay safe
the good part best to not breathe deep around septic like when they clean drains at a grocery store.
Mr Jhon thanks for watching and stay safe
Folks are gonna have to watch where they step in that yard for a while and that truck owner is going to need a stack of quarters at the car wash.
Mr Doak Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Some time it takes a great team for this job.
Mr James thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Wow! The video was posted 5 days ago and I can still smell the tank. Good job guys! Better you than me.
Swamp rat I am glad my sinuses were messed up. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Crappy recovery 😂 Ron Pratt will have trouble topping that one!
Mr Will I think a rotator would have gotten it. Thanks for watching and stay safe
What a small world I work in Sumter! Nice to find you!
Mr Wayne Yes sir. We appreciate you watching and stay safe.
You would definitely have to work as a team to do this type of work and it looks like he has a great team. Great Work 👍 🇺🇸
Mr Duane thanks for watching and commenting on our videos. Stay safe
Lucky the tank didn't split. The hard part is figuring how to off load the cargo. This is what I call being in deep doo doo. Good job guys.
Mr Collen Thanks for watching and stay safe
Very nice job guys
Mr Dean Thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
Mr Hal that was the Crappiest video i have ever seen LOL ... WOW that was a tough one but in the end you got the poo pee truck out .. I do have a question would it have been much easier to call in another pumper truck to unload the stuck truck ??? Great video Mr Hal and Crew ... Honk if you want Chocolate Milk
Mr Roger Thanks for watching and stay safe
Good video Mr Hal& crew I hope your feeling better stay safe
Mr John Yes sir I am feeling better. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I hope you feel better soon Mr. Hall, take that medication and try: chicken noodle soup, cream of chicken soup, or thick chicken broth, instead of coffee, tea, soda
Mr Joha Thanks I feel alot better now. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Hal, it sounded like you have a head cold, or the odor from that septic truck was getting to you. 1 tsp of the hot sauce ought to cure it for ya.
Mr Hugh Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
A rotator would have made short work on this job, but y'all made do with what y'all had, good job and you shouldn't have been there Mr Hal, I'd say that you probably made it worse by being outside like that
Mr James Yes sir it would have. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Way to go Hal and gang
Mr Mark Thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
Two things for sure. This is going to be expensive and someone is going to be very unhappy. You guys done very well.
Mr Mike We appreciate you watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
That was a pain great job like always
Mr Earl Yes sir a bad location. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Awesome job guys
Mr Chris thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Nice video!! Get well soon!!!
Mr Eddie Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
1st time fer me watching youall
Yep i subscribed.
Great job
That's a 4k$ recovery at least.
Mr James We appreciate you and thanks for subscribing. Stay safe
That is some heavy s... s... s... stuff Mr. Hal!
Hope you're feeling better. Had something last fall that lasted 3 weeks and it was miserable.
Mr Steve Yes sir I am feeling better. Thanks for watching and stay safe
...it's a sh*tty job but somebodys gotta' do it! (On both your parts!)
Mr Wil Yes sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Good job good video and you and Mr Wilbur work like a good team of muels
Mr Bob Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Somebody should have brought a toilet paper truck to soak up that mess. 😂😂😂 In ready to rumble they said it smelled like French toast, is that true? 😂😂😂
I no you and your crew can get the job done of what equipment you have. Have you ever thought about getting a rotator? I know they cost about $800.000. Might cut the work force in half, but cost would be a factor.
Mr Dusty Yes sir just scared to pull the trigger. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Wow,one axle to support that weight?
Mr Joseph Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Seemed like that corner came up really hard, I wouldn't have thought it could have been more than a 20,000 lift centering on the honey wagon's rear axle, even less from the rear of the tank
Mr Joe It was sure heavier than we figured. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe.
Great job
Mr Carlsensverden Thanks and thank you for watching our channel. Stay safe
Man that's some heavy S***, boys! The ground held up UNTIL the last gallon of slop was pumped into the tank. It's good to see Pros doing what the Noobies can not.Of course you'll need $400,000.00 for those Pete's and equipment (or more)
Pity the guys that have to fix the poopwagen. This is a crappy day.
Mr Larry We appreciate that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Yall getting it done
Mr Dustin Thanks for watching and commenting on our videos. Stay safe
Nice job
Mr Fred Thanks for watching and stay safe.
Bronchitis!
Aint nobody got time for dat 😂
Mr Justin Thanks for watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
That definitely looked like it might have left some SKID MARKS going in.
That was a crappy job but you guys handled it like champs!😆😆😆
Mr Scott Yes sir but not as planned. Thanks for watching and stay safe
that was in deep..lol
Mr Derek Yes sir it was. Thanks for watching and stay safe
You considering adding a rotator to your fleet?
Deer9620 I would love too. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Man I hope it don't have a leak, that would be real crappy!
JDC Yes sir it would. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I know nothing about recovery other than what I see you and others do, but wouldn’t it have been easier if you had run your cable over the underlift to get some lift as you pull it out?
Mr John In the first hook up I wanted to pull down to get truck some what back on its wheels. There was no way to lift on the passenger side because we couldn't get anything under it. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I do not think the homeowner would have been happy with the Driver. If he overheard him wanting to drop a load off in the yard.
Mr Max Thanks for watching and stay safe
I was waiting for the septic truck owner to ask you if he could use your lift truck. I can't believe how destroyed the side of that truck was where it was needlessly lifted. Casey Ladel would have had that out in ten minutes without a scratch on it.
Mr Andy Where would he have lifted it ?There was no hook points on the top..I am always open for suggestions. Stay safe
@@SumterWrecker around the rear hatch with a sling.
What broke on the Truck that it needed Towing?
Thanks Guys...
Mike M.
Mr Mike The owner wanted it towed just in case and to give the fluids time to drain. Thanks for watching and stay safe
you have a cold or samething?
That was awful - looked like the wheels that went in the tank hooked under the top of the tank and tore it up coming out. I know you guys had a hard day!
Dustcommander Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
34:16. You're lucky it's a halfround yoke.
Curious was it 1710 ?
Mr James Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Do you cover the damage to the customers truck?
Mr Cody We hate to do any more damage than already done but sometimes it happens. I was upfront with the customer telling him it was going to be damaged. We knocked some off the bill for him because of that. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
@@SumterWrecker that's kinda what I figured. I know it's unavoidable sometimes. Thanks for the reply!
I wonder why the septic company didn't send another truck out to pump this one empty.
Mr Jim I am not sure. Thanks for watching and stay safe
wow, that poor truck I can’t believe it fell inside the ground oh, and it broke a bunch of parts off man if I was the owner, I’d be upset😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Mr Cameron Thanks for watching and stay safe
That’s what scares me in my dump truck you never know until it’s too late! Great job guys! Hopefully you get to feeling better!
Not as bad as it could be .
Mr Dallas Yes sir it could have. Thanks for watching and stay safe
How many hours did this job take?
The public eye We had about 2hrs on the recovery side. Some of that time was wait on the second wrecker but we never stopped trying. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That sounds fair@@SumterWrecker
Why couldn't you get closer to the rear and lift it straight up? Maybe something I couldn't see. They can be difficult at times, good job boys. Retired heavy operator
No foundation, I reckon.
Mr Ky I was trying to get out with one truck but setting up 90 degrees all I could would be to lift. Also the weight was off on what we figured. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Thats the most stuck ive ever seen a truck
Mr Ion It was in there good. Thanks for watching and stay safe
..it happens - Thx 💩
Mr Mike Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪
Towman127 thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Ahh sir you CAN'T park there😉
Wynottgivemore Thanks for watching and stay safe
Every one involved in this job is having a shitty day, with yesterday days meals on the ground, instead of the truck 🛻
Verda Garner We appreciate you watching our videos and stay safe.
