The film tries a bit too much to paint a black/white contrast between the good guys and the bad guys, and the preachy attitude gets overwhelming at times. But the breathtaking photography, the fairy tale-like setting, Rachel Portman's soundtrack and Juliette Binoche make for a perfect cinematic treat, despite the aforementioned flaws. And, ah well, all that sensual chocolate.
+Mirko Bozic I disagree, I think that the characters don't lack depth or are painted black and white. On the contrary, all the characters that seem bad, eventually show their more sensitive sides and the seemingly good guys make are shown to make mistakes as well.
Never get tired of this wonderful movie. But must have chocolate when I look at it.
