I believe you should definitely build some villages dotted around the map that are focused on farming and such. It's much better to build villages that over time merge into one another and form their own cities and/or merge into the city itself. Serves for storytelling, history and a more realistic vibe.
Might also help with the income issues, I feel like CS2 relies quite a bit on establishing those specific industries early on or else you'll just not get money.
Also worth to watch a video by "er Krieger" called "The Definitive Guide To Realistic European Cities in CS2" to create a really nice city with all its' historical relevant eras of expansion.

Sim city 2000 on SNES, I would rent it constantly but was told it would go on sale if it didn't rent well. I'd ask every week if it was on sale yet. Then one day I asked if I was the only one renting it and they said yes. So I stopped renting it and in two weeks it had a price tag for sale and I bought it. Loved city builders ever since.

Ive been bingeing your videos again and I love the character lore you put in your CS video series. I would also love to see an asian inspired themed city with the Japan pack, and future packs coming to CS2. Something with an emphasis on shipping and ferries. Would be fun to see you do above ground subways and working with high density cities.

I’ve been playing the beta version since it first came out and I LOVE it! Would highly recommend it, especially if you like games like Banished, CS, Sim City, etc. 👍👍
